Every year I make it a point to go to one of the restaurants on LA Restaurant week that I've never been to before. This year my bf and I decided to go to Morton's, I've never been but my bf has in the past and said he remembered it being a fantastic steak house. I made a reservation on open table at 7 for an 8:00 table for 2 inside We were seated right away upon arrival, there's an old school feel inside. Not as modern or contemporary as some of the other steak houses, we felt like we were transported back in time and we loved it! Such a cozy feel with the dimply lit lighting and our server was phenomenal. We ordered an Arnold Palmer and Diet Coke. We had fresh bread and butter dropped off to the table (I am gluten free, but ate all the gluten items for this special occasion) The bread was light and fluffy and the butter was perfection. We each decided on the wedge salad for our appetizer and it was the perfect fresh crunch of reduced, crispy bacon bits, and the blue cheese dressing pulled the dish together. We both had the 8oz filet mignon for dinner, my choice of side was the garlicky green beans, my bf had the sour cream mashed potatoes. My filet was a perfect medium rare, we added on the peppercorn sauce and I could have died I was in heaven! My bf agreed his filet was cooked to the perfect medium rare, so tender it melted in our mouths! Green beans were good, could have been cooked a bit longer. The mashed potatoes were creamy and hit the spot. Dessert we had the espresso chocolate mousse and had to order the chocolate lava cake. They nailed the lava cake, I have a massive chocolate sweet tooth and this really was the cherry on top. We left so full and happy and satisfied with a doggy bag to go! I am looking forward to eating the rest of my steak today for lunch. Our server was so kind! I'm not sure if we are supposed to wait so long between courses. Our server was very nice and always helpful but we would have liked to have ordered more drinks as well. Our server was very very NICE. I liked her but we perhaps would have liked faster service.

Service started a bit slow even though they were not very busy. Valet parking even though we parked the car in and out, demanded full price and tip.

My experience at Morton’s Steakhouse was deeply disappointing and marred by several significant issues. From the outset, our interaction with the host was incredibly unpleasant. Despite having a reservation, we were initially refused seating in the dining room due to our attire, specifically being told our choice of footwear (Birkenstocks) was unacceptable. This was communicated in a manner that was both abrupt and disrespectful. After insisting on speaking with a manager to clarify this policy, we were eventually seated. The entire ordeal was not only humiliating but also indicative of a lack of hospitality and professionalism on the part of the host. What further compounded our dismay was observing the attire of other patrons who were seated before us. Many appeared significantly underdressed compared to us, which raised concerns about consistency in enforcing their dress code policy. One cannot help but wonder if our treatment was influenced by factors beyond our control, such as our minority status. Overall, this experience has left a lasting negative impression, and I am compelled to share this review to caution others who may consider dining at Morton’s Steakhouse. The lack of respect shown to us as customers, coupled with what appeared to be arbitrary enforcement of dress standards, reflects poorly on the establishment’s commitment to customer service and inclusivity. Regrettably, based on this encounter, I cannot recommend Morton’s Steakhouse and will not be returning.

We had an excellent experience we were seated on time immediately had water and drinks, the place was absolutely quiet until a couple of noisy groups showed up, they have a dress code there that they don’t really enforce. Besides that the food was excellent and we’re definitely going back. There aren’t too many places anymore that have dress codes so this place Needs toenforce it.

The July 4th holiday special menu was absolutely delicious and Brian is an outstanding waiter. My husband chose the pork chop and I had the salmon and both were cooked to perfection and so tasty. We can’t wait to return. Extremely well run restaurant. Thank you to all!

horrible the chef was talking down about everybody feel bad for the waitresses they were getting talk down by the chef we were able to hear everything he even talk about us it was very uncomfortable
