What a perfect spot for a cozy date night! When we first walked in, the noise level surprised me a bit, but once seated in our corner booth, the ambiance was spot on. Whether it was luck or because I marked "date" on the reservation, the booth was ideal—quiet enough for conversation, and we loved not having a table between us. We decided to focus on wine and appetizers, which was a good choice since the portions are on the smaller side. The flavors and presentation more than made up for it, though! We tried the shrimp cocktail, the summer salad with stracciatella, and the crispy pork with fries. As someone with celiac, I was impressed by the variety of gluten-free options, and they even had a dedicated fryer for the fries, which was a huge plus. To top it off, we shared the flourless chocolate cake—one of the best gluten-free desserts I’ve ever had! The wine-by-the-glass options were limited, but as expected for a place focused on full bottles. I’m excited to return with a wine-loving group to explore a few of the bottles. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a unique and intimate night out!

The flavours and service were top notch. This continues to be our favorite restaurant in Ottawa for speial occasions.

Arlo is always an excellent choice. Excellent wines, cocktails, and food. Wonderful service, great space and vibe.

I had the maitake dish. The mushroom steak was very juicy. However, the whole meal had one note, with not much variety in flavour or texture. We sat on the back patio which is a beautiful area with cute mood lighting. However, there was a concert happening on the street right next to us because of Pride so it was a bit loud. Nothing the restaurant could do about that though. The food and drink is costly. While I enjoyed trying Arlo, I don't think I'll be coming back too soon.

Lovely night at Arlo. Love the patio. The beef takaki with BBQ eel was amazing.

Amazing atmosphere, and excellent service. Our food was amazing. The only improvement we could note would be the dessert selection.

We had a wonderful evening. The food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere relaxed, warm and vibrant, and the service was wonderful and warm. A fantastic restaurant! We will return!

This patio is the summer date patio of my dreams. The owner is always there ready to provide you with the perfect wine to suit your tastes and all of the service staff seem to knock it out of the park in terms of hospitality every time. Love it here!
