I took my wife to an Armenian/Slavic restaurant for her birthday and Ararat didn't disappoint AT ALL! Their food is incredibly flavorful, fresh, well prepared, and 100% authentic. The shashlik is exactly what I would expect from an Armenian place, the lavash was plentiful, the dumplings were juicy and tasty, and the khachapuri was everything you could ask for! Their selection of Georgian wines is outstanding and perfectly balanced against their menu. It's not only the food that was the winner that night! Sasha our server was a delight and very attentive along with personable. He helped to make the evening that much more of an amazing and special night for my Ukrainian wife as the singer on stage wished her a happy birthday and then proceeded to sing songs of Odesa and 740... a real treat not only for us in the party but especially for my wife. Would I come back to Ararat when visiting Miami the answer is YES for the food, for the ambience, and for the wonderful experience of dining at this hidden gem!!! BRAVO!!!

I don’t know how another reviewer could possibly say anything negative about this place, because the food, service, environment were spectacular! would definitely hit this spot again! The lamb and the fresh herbs and cheese plate, and stuffed grape leaves were outstanding! Very welcoming and warm ambiance btw!

The music was very good, the service was horrible. Our appetizer came for dessert. Waiter didn’t cone at all. We kept asking for drinks, after 3 asks they brought but annoyed. Such a shame. We even waited 20 minutes to pay.

The staff was nice and understanding. The show was also nice. But the most important thing - food, was just awful. Khinkali were flavorless, just some salt on the meat and dough. Hachapuri was decent. The main dishes like lamb shish kebab and slow cooked lamb were terrible, no spices on them whatsoever. You wouldn’t expect that from an Armenian place. No spices, at all, just meat and some sauce on the side. Mashed potatoes no flavor, all vegetables simply boiled and also no flavor. Like I said the best thing was Ajarian hachapuri. My lamb shish kebab was cold. It was a bit busy and it took me 10 min to fish out a waitress. Not their fault if they’re understaffed but still something to consider. They asked me if I wanted my lamb microwaved? After a pause, I looked at them, and they finally offered me to remake the dish, to which I agreed. It came 10 min later just moderately warm, not hot as you would expect from a grill. It was acceptable and didn’t want them to spit in my food so I agreed to accept it. Whatever. The worst of all are the prices, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and 2 bottles of sparking water was roughly 120$. There’s also a mandatory service charge of 20%, THEN an additional tip. All in all it was close to 170$ for a really mediocre food. Worst feeling ever. The service was attentive and nice but food wasn’t it.

Food was tasty but very overpriced. The servers were arrogant and Ryde when we asked questions about the menu. It was a beautiful evening so we asked for outdoor seating. 5 minutes later, the people at the adjacent table started chain smoking. We informed the waiter about this. Instead if asking them to stop smoking in the dining area and smoke 25 feet away from the building, he told us that the only option was to move inside. After we moved to an indoor table, I searched the internet regarding Florida smoking laws. I informed the waiter about this and he gave me attitude. I will never return to this restaurant and I will not recommend it. We ordered 2 entrees and an appetizer and the bill came to 150.00 for 3 people.
