    Food was just ok for the price, and wasn’t as described. Very small portions. Many waitstaff but never there when you needed them. Lovely setting. Highly recommend the spa.

    Beautiful location, great food but experience was lacking. Arrived for our reservation and was say at a tiny two top beside a cold brick wall. This wouldn’t have generally bothered me but there were better tables available which I assumed were bookings….they were never sat. This is after I specified it was my wife’s birthday in the reservation. Next, sat for 20 minutes minimum before meeting out waiter and getting our drinks order. Not an exaggeration. My white wine was room temp, my wife’s was chilled. Waiter did their best (I think?) not sure if they were brand new or they were understaffed. Had to ask for sharing plates as we ordered 3 starters and stated we were sharing. Had to ask for some type of spoon to attack the shellfish custard. Honestly the food was great but this is supposed to be fine dining. No busboy to clear plates which made our tiny table even more of an annoyance. My glass was consistently empty before being asked if I would like anything else. $300 for 2 with wine. Food was great and the kitchen was quick but service was so bad that my wife and I had to laugh. Every time I see an espresso spoon, I will think of my delicious seafood custard and how difficult it was to eat 😂 Sweet people but they need a front of house manager (or do they have one…definitely didn’t encounter them) and much better training. TLDR: Amazing food, laughable service. Would try again and just be more specific reg regarding where I would like to sit!

    Very nice. Steak and endive salad were very good. Pasta not so special. Was surprised there were no mocktail options, gluten-free bread or oat milk. Seemed just a little out of step in that way.

    Absolutely love everything abut Apropos. Endive salad and chicken were superb.

    On the website, it says complementary mimosa when ordering entree. But when we asked the hostess, she first said she didn’t know, after checking informed us they just changed that last week! A true Michelin would’ve honored that. When asked if they have gluten free, the waitress said “ yeah those marked GF”. But none of the items on the menus has GF next to it. She had to go back and ask. Tuna tartar appetizer was excellent. But the duck confit was dry and stale. The apropos steak salad used iceberg as base. Shouldn’t it use a better salad base? Overall experience disappointing, except the tuna and the view.

    Food was very good, except risotto was a little underdone. Also had shrimp and scallops and sundae. Other people had pork and soup, both very good. Service good and staff courteous, polite, expressed their thanks. Restaurant well decorated, situated on beautiful piece of property overlooking Hudson, perfect for an abbey. Had a fire alarm, handled well. Will return.

    You cannot beat the view. Service was attentive and warm. Food was enjoyed by all. It was restaurant week so you’re getting good value although the choices are quite limited. The only thing that bothered me was a fruit fly at the table. That makes me feel that conditions could be cleaner.

    Dining at the abbey is a wonderful event! The food is delicious and varied - the staff is helpful and allows the diner to relax and enjoy the meal. The view is as delicious as the lunch and valet service makes parking much easier!

    We went to Apropos at The Abbey Inn for Hudson Valley Restaurant Week. The menu was very good with many autumn choices! The butternut squash soup with roasted pumpkin seeds was delicious as my first course. Our friends had the salad which was quite large. All the entries we had were so good. Two of us had the pork, which was the softest pork ever! It cut like butter! So so good! One of us had the chicken, which she raved about. My husband had the salmon, which he loved! We finished off the night with hot fudge sundae and cappuccinos! Everything was great! Servers were attentive! Great place!
