The place is absolutely beautiful. We did have to send an appetizer back to be reheated and entree to cook to our liking but the food was delicious and the service impeccable!

We celebrated my Birthday brunch @ Apropos on Sun. 6/23. We were in the sunroom. First of all, the room had very little ambiance. There were no flowers, candles, vases... on the tables. A little color or decoration would have gone a long way to create some warmth. We started with coffee that was lukewarm at best. My son ordered a blueberry muffin, which never came. The staff did give him another muffin and did not charge him, but this was only after he asked about the whereabouts his blueberry muffin. I asked for more coffee to enjoy with my Birthday cake and I never received it. The food was decent and we generally enjoyed it. This was my second time at Apropos and while the staff was friendly, the quality of the service was mediocre at best. Not sure if I will be going there for a third time.

On the night we went the staff seemed stretched thin. They were as attentive as they could be considering their stations seemed to stretch across the entire several rooms of the restaurant. Other than the long wait between courses and getting the check, the evening there was great and we will look forward to going back

Dinner was great. We were seated promptly and our server was attentive. Our drinks and dinners were delicious. The Abbey Inn is stunning. It was raining so we couldn’t walk in the gardens but we did go up to the 2nd floor catering room which I think was the chapel, just gorgeous.

J’ai pris le steak en plat qui était une très bonne viande parfaitement cuite avec des chips maison. C’était parfait mais plus du niveau d’un très bon Steakhouse que d’un restaurant étoilé au guide Michelin. Le service par contre était top avec en prime un maître d’hôtel parlant français. Superbe vue sur la rivière Hudson.

I read the mixed reviews about the service which is a problem in many Westchester high end restaurants. I could not have imagined how slow and inept the service was. We waited about an 1 1/2 hours for our entrees to be served, while the table next us got their food well before us. They blamed it on being busy, but that was not the case. They did take my suggestion to comp us dessert and a glass of wine.

A beautiful setting and excellently prepared food. Some of the service would greatly benefit from improved training. Ice was requested for the water. It wasn’t brought initially. After a second request, a server brought it in a glass without a spoon or a way to get it into glasses. For a restaurant of this caliber, a bowl with a utensil would be appropriate. It was also kind of “ dumped” on the table. The same server came to the table with two salads( not ours) and said “ watermelon…”. I indicated that they weren’t for us. At that particular time, there were only a few other diners. Again, not expected at this level of restaurant. When our salads were served, ground pepper wasn’t offered. I had to request it. I would expect servers to be trained to offer it. The pasta dish with crabmeat and sea urchin butter sauce had almost no crabmeat in evidence. We asked a question regarding the ingredients of one of the dishes and never received a response. There was also a manner in which the check wasn’t presented prior to the credit card being picked up. The food and setting are quite wonderful. One would expect better trained servers.

I excepted more from this restaurant There was a large dead fly in my daughter's mocktail, she realized after drinking most of it, so that put a damper on our Father's Day Celebration. Her chicken was greasy and dry. Everything she ate was comped, but, I mean, really, one never can get over having a fly in their drink. The waiter was super nice about it. No one else said anything. I would expect the manager to come over and apologize, but that didn't happen. Earlier in the evening, one of the waiters was cursing, so that put a damper on the evening.
