Appalachia Restaurant brings an upscale-casual experience to an intimate setting. With stunning views and a cuisine that offers an Appalachian flair, you will be immersed with the true spirit of Lake Lure.
Dinner at the restaurant begins at 4:30pm.
We bring the Appalachian heritage from the outdoors in while dining in front of the stunning 525 million year old mountains. Inside, outside, or bar room dining, you will have a gorgeous view of Lake Lure and the Appalachian mountains. Boats Slips are first come, first serve. Due to the small volume of tables, we cannot accept preferred table/view requests.
Dress Code: No swimwear or coverups, must have shoes.

Appalachia has hit the perfect balance between fine dining and a casual, warm, friendly ambiance. The food was amazing and the service just right. You can’t beat Appalachia for the perfect mountain evening after a long day of travel and exploring. Great value as well.

Exceptional dining experience... quaint, rustic charm, nice selection of seasonal food and spirits. Good service. One disappointed, which should not deter you from experience this dining, we informed open table and the staff we were celebrating a birthday that day and no effort was made to make the experience a little more special, perhaps a candle in our desert or a comp desert. Otherwise again a great experience.

The steak and pate were delectable. My wife had trout and it was good along with the cabbage slaw.

Celebrated our anniversary - amazing food, amazing service and the prettiest views on the lake. The deck is my favorite place to eat.

Had fun finding this hidden gem as I am not from the Suggested by brother and nieces as a top restaurant to explore. Upon entering was greeted by friendly staff. We both ordered the filet mignon. It was my sister's B'day and we could be more pleased with the meal. Both steaks were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Easily the best I've ever had.

I ordered rack of lamb which was soaked in butter so tasted ok but was not medium as suggested but rare. I had a terrible time slicing the ribs apart, asked for a sharper knife and still rattled the table when "sawing". The ribs should have been separated in the kitchen. I am a retired caterer and pretty sure the rack was microwaved to thaw and probably cooked in same. The restaurant did offer another entree but I was relatively full on potatoes and carrots and they did comp my meal. It was a bummer for our 44th anniversary night out. This restaurant has a wonderful reputation and I hope the chef was out and they grabbed anyone they could to cook!

We had dinner at Appalachia at The Lodge to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We were also staying at The Lodge so was very convenient. They also were flexible with our reservation as we ended up taking the sunset lake cruise with Captain Bill. Everything was amazing, we highly recommend. I had the blackened shrimp, and my husband had the trout. We also shared a bottle of brut and they gave us our dessert on a dish with "Happy anniversary". A nice touch!

Best steak we have ever had! Loved the potatoes with duck fat. Our she crab soup appetizer was very flavorful and satisfying. One suggestion would be to include the small bread loaf complimentary rather than charge $9 for it.

Food was excellent, and the view would was unsurpassed. We got to see a beautiful sunset! The waitress left a little bit to be desired. She was a attentive, but not super professional and got quite a few things wrong..The outside area of the restaurant is gorgeous.
