    We LOVED Apolline! We’re picky, having dined at a number of famous restaurants both in the US and France, but this was outstanding, from greeting to dessert. Warm welcome, pretty room (a classic NO double shotgun home conversion), wonderfully helpful and efficient waiter, and then there was the great food. My husband had the strawberry-arugula salad. It was both unusual and delicious. His porkchop was unusually juicy, and my salmon unusually tasty (though my veggie sides were exceptional), and the peach cobbler both delicious and big enough for two. Not cheap, but not insanely expensive either.

    We had a lovely time at Appoline on Saturday evening. Our reservation was right when they opened for dinner so it was just us and one other table to start out. As it got later it started to fill up and become more noisy, but not too bad. All 4 of us tried the coolinary menu and tried everything but the strawberry salad from said menu. You can’t really go wrong with any of it, but I do have some dessert tips. Bread pudding. Rivals, if not better than, Boucherie’s Krispy Kreme bread pudding. Very, very good. Our seasonal sorbet that night was thai basil and it was fantastic. Chocolate cake and peach cobbler not our favorites, but still pretty good. There were 2 non-salmon-enjoyers at the table (including me) who tried a bite of the salmon entree, and it was really good. The crispy chicken confit was really good, I just wish there had been more mashed potatoes on the plate. I could tell the lady next to us thought so too because she ended up getting an entire side plate of mashed potatoes added on. But I know this is coolinary, we’re getting a deal here. Service was great. They were running a hostess short but everything ran smoothly from our perspective. Our server was attentive, refilled waters, checked in on us but didn’t hover, very friendly. Cocktails are a bit on the $$ side. We tried the Endless Summer and it was good. This was our first time here and we’re definitely coming back.

    Food was outstanding. We were a party of 4, two of whom dined from the Coolinary Menu. Everything was delicious, including the cocktails. The “picky eater” with us practically licked his plate! Our server, Ned, was very good and friendly and the owner, Keith, was very warm and welcoming. We’ll be back.

    This was my first visit to Appoline. It was for lunch and the restaurant was not crowded. The menu was very heavily oriented to comfort food which I love. I ordered the coolinary menu for $40. The food was great, but I was even more impressed with the portion sizes. I have become used to very small portions particulalry when ordering a set menu. Here, the meal could have fed two people and both would have been stuffed. I had the fried green tomato appetizer, the pork enchiladas, and the peach cobbler. It was all good and I'll definitely be back.
