Antoine's Restaurant a contribué à faire de la Nouvelle-Orléans une des plus grandes destinations de restauration dans le monde. Sit in one of 14 gilded dining rooms to feast on favorites like oyster Rockefeller and soufflé potatoes, both original to the restaurant. Cap the meal with a classic baked Alaska or the house chicory coffee, laced with cognac and triple sec and flamed tableside—it’s New Orleans, after all.

Seated promptly for our early reservation (5:15). Service was prompt and attentive, although it became less so as the restaurant began to fill. Typical urban clientele: boisterous and caring little for other tables. The architecture contributed to the noise level. The food was quite good. We are repeat customers and will return again sometime on a future trip to the Crescent City. It, of course, offers legion dining options.

We started at the bar with the harvest moon drink special. Then our waiter Chuck made the night with his 25 years at Antoine’s. We had a great time trying the restaurant created dishes along with house favorites.

Pompano was overcooked and completely cold. Seemed like it had been sitting out for a while. This is the second time I’ve had a really bad meal at Antoine’s.

Went for Jazz Brunch with an 11:45 reservation. The server talked up the souffléd potatoes which we ordered. She came back in 5 minutes to say they were out. We each ordered soup- I ordered seafood gumbo - 13.00 for the smallest cup of gumbo I have ever seen. I also ordered a seafood omelet for 26.00. There were a few shredded of crab and two medium shrimp. No mornay sauce so the omelette was extremely dry. The eggs were extremely hard and completely overcooked. For two people (2 soups, 1 omelette and one eggs Benedict and two diet cokes), it was over 80.00. I wouldn’t complain if the food was excellent but it wasn’t. My omelette was beyond dreadful and the rest was merely average. This place is clearly coasting on its name.
