he word "Antigua" is a Castilian word which translates into "Old" or better yet "Ancient". We name our Restaurant "Antigua" because our Mexican cuisine is crafted from ancient recipes. The processes of crating our dishes has changed, but the flavors remain untouched. Always looking to preserve the original flavors of our mothers and grandmothers, is why Antigua Mexican Grill stands out for its original flavors.
We welcome anyone looking to explore the last flavors of Mexican cuisine, here in the great City of Algonquin.

Seevice was attentive, nice ambiance on patio, guacamole made at table was excellent, a bit pricey but will return.

Everything was delicious! We had nachos, guacamole, and shrimp queso fundido for an appetizer. Everything was so good and fresh tasting. My husband had shrimp fajitas, there was enough food for dinner the next night! I had chili rellenos, same thing, I ate the leftovers for dinner the next evening. My daughter had shrimp tacos and she said they were so good!

It was an early dinner and the spicy cucumber margarita was amazing. Christian recommended the Baja Tacos and they were so yummy. He told us they have Salsa dancing on Wednesday nights!

Very loud live music which made it difficult to talk with people at our table of 4. We had ordered carne asada medium and received it well done. Also ordered stuffed peppers which had an unappetizing breading on it.

Food was delicious. Our server Yolanda J was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. We will return.

Wasn’t my favorite place. I like the location in Crystal Lake better. Staff was friendly and food was ok.

Great food..service was a little slow to get drinks but that’s what you expect when it’s was so busy..overall we enjoyed ourselves

We've eaten here several times, always delicious and Generous portions. The carnitas are excellent as is the Cochinta Pabil. Try the Ceviche and/or the made at your table guacamole, both are awesome. The tower with 4 margaritas is quite the presentation and worth the cost if you like margaritas and sharing. (Too much for 1 person to drink!) It can get a little noisy, but not overly so.
