Annabelle's Kitchen is a modern 'neighbourhood' Italian restaurant offering a variety of classic pasta, antipasti, pizza, and entrata dishes made from scratch using the freshest ingredients. Our downtown location boasts a substantial wine cellar, innovative cocktails, and local craft beer.
Showcasing exposed brick and soft colours our downtown restaurant space honours the iconic building located along historic Stephen Avenue. It also boasts a great private dining room, which seats up to 10 guests.
Join us for Happy Hour 3 pm to 5 pm, Monday through Friday! Enjoy $17 pizzas & $8 wine and aperol spritz.

Good food and nice staff. Seemed a little understaffed with only 6 tables occupied but a long wait for first service. Staff was really nice and good value. Meatballs were excellent.

Food was quite good all around, especially loved that they do a moist (rather than cakey) tiramisu. The service left a lot to be desired — polite, but sort of inept. For example, we were given dirty plates but the server never QC’ed us out on the patio, so after waiting a while I eventually just went inside and swapped my own plate at the service station (since there was no one at the front of the restaurant, either).

The staff were all quite friendly. The food was really bland. The pasta was under cooked and the olive plate looked like it came from a can. I am no food critic, but I wouldn’t go back.

Management does not value the customer service aspect. Our appetizers and mains were good. Our issue was that after ordering a bottle of wine, just after pouring the first glass, our waitress knocked it over, shattering everywhere and dumping the full glass of red wine over my mom. This was an accident and they apologized. We did our best to save the evening and did not make a big fuss. But when the bill came the manager happily showed me they “gave us a staff discount on the bottle of wine”. That discount didn’t even cover the cost the of spilled wine - much less anything else. They seemed surprised when I was less than enthusiastic but that was their one chance to show they wanted to make things right. It’s not about the cost of the wine but the lack of understanding of the hospitality business.

Food ranged from overly salty to overly bland. The meatballs were good but salty, the beet salad with feta was an exceptionally small portion and very bland for $14. The squid ink prawn pasta would have been the best item we ordered but also very salty. The pizza - arugula, caramelized onion was very bland though the crust was crisp and tasty. I think there are many other restaurant options in Calgary doing Italian better - for taste and value. Our server however, was excellent.
