Fish and chips was tiny and overcooked.Fishcake slimy and tasteless. The starter of chicken strips were chunks deep fried and overcooked. Ordered a bottle of Red wine which was stone cold and when I asked the server she said all the red wine comes from the Cellar,they do not store the wine on the Bar Shelf. I tried to educate the server but to know avail. There was no one in charge in the Bar. Absolutely awful. I am local and eat out in the Village every week. For the forth time in 3 years Punch Taverns have changed the Management with the standards dropping every time it will be another year before I go back……….NEW MANAGEMENT AGAIN

Lovely decor and friendly helpful staff. A few things missing from the menu and parsnips were a little undercooked. Roast chicken was lovely.

Slow table service - we ordered and also paid at the bar in the end. Food over seasoned with salt for all of our likings. Couldn't provide ingredients of a particular sauce, so due to an allergy, we just decided to give the sauce a miss! No tea or coffee available as the machine was broken, and they didn't have a kettle. Overall ok, good company, staff were happy and friendly and working hard but don't think we will rush back here.

Quiet as a Tuesday night but a few people watching football in the bar to liven up the atmosphere a bit. Waitress very friendly. Food was nice.

The new owners provided a much better experience than the previous. We had Sunday lunch and it was just okay, but lots of room for improvement. The roast potatoes had no crunch, and there was some sort of white sauce in the cabbage. It would have been nice to have one portion of veg that was roasted. The Yorkshire pudding was very nice and service was very good. Its a lovely pub, but there are other restaurants, like Blue Anchor and The Barn which offer much tastier roasts.

We were welcomed in a friendly way, our meal was freshly cooked and enjoyable. had a very pleasant lunch . Staff were very good . Would go again.

First visit since change of ownership, and very impressed with food quality, service and setting. Important for us to be able to have a conversation. We learned business had boomed which explained why some menu choices were not available, but we shall be back soon and wish them continued success.
