Comforting favorites in Avondale by Chefs Johnny Clark and Beverly Kim inspired by old-world cooking. Start your meal with a selection of beverages like a bottle of trendy orange wine or head to the bar after work with no reservation needed for a craft cocktail like The Muse with gin and beet kvass. Our appetizer cart will roll to your table to start your dinner with over 10 bites beckoning to be picked like our fan-favorite smoked carrot paté or sunflower seed hummus. Our main dishes offer a variety of homestyle flavors just like your mother made from thick soups to layered pasta and fluffy Ukrainian garlic bread. Coffee, after-dinner drinks and a flaky pastry like our Napoleon invite you to finish the meal with a sweet treat and hours of good conversation in a space that feels like home.

Celebrate Valentine's Day with us! Anelya's Valentine's 3-course special menu will be available February 12 - 16. $49/pp. Zakusky additions available on the a la carte menu. First Course Lazy varenyky with spinach, farmer's cheese & mushrooms Second Course Chicken Kyiv with herbal butter & potato puree. Third Course White Piana Vishnya cake 2-person minimum for Valentine's Menu. We cannot accommodate dietary restrictions for this menu. A la carte menu is available to accommodate any restrictions.

Dined as part of Restaurant Week. Four course meal was pretty damn good. Highlight, for me, was the spinach dumpling. The borscht was also really good too. Portions were just the right size for the meal. Staff was attentive and gracious. Atmosphere was busy with slightly funky decor. We will come back to try their regular menu.

We had a lovely time. Service is attentive and friendly. The drink menu had a nice mix of wonderful cocktails, wine, and zero-alcohol options. All of the dishes were a hit, but we especially liked the sunflower hummus and pashtet (chicken liver). The mushroom yushka with a clear broth was a new dish for all of us and one of the surprise favorites.

Went to Anelya for restaurant week and everything was delicious. We will for sure be back to try more from their regular menu.

Came for restaurant week, servers checked to make sure we were ready for each course and they were all delicious. Really enjoyed it!

The decor is wonderful. There's a beautiful bar near the entrance, The dining room is quiet and intimate, with fabric flower lamps and colored lights. The appetizer cart is a special feature. We chose the chicken liver and would have chosen the eggplant egg rolls, but they had run out. The chicken liver was rich and delicious, the richness undercut by an acidic fruit jam. Our second course was the prime rib in broth, which was incredibly delicious. All this was accompanied by Tokaj wine. Finally, we tried the medovik, or honey cake, and were glad we did. It was a kind of mille feuilles cake with cream and honey between the layers. This had a sour cherry topping. We plan to return and try some other things!

Great restaurant, I recommend visiting! The only thing I would like is for the cutlery to be changed after the main courses are served.
