The Face of 4th Street

Four amigos had a vision of bringing a high-quality & authentic Mexican experience back to Calgary – the journey began with a research trip to Guadalajara.

They gathered stories & vibrant décor pieces, soaked up the sunshine & culture, sampled a lot of tequila, and finally figured out what the squiggle above the “n” was called.

In the landmark 4th Street Rose building, an anchor of the neighbourhood in the ’80s, the Mexican experience has been elevated to another level. Fresh, locally grown ingredients, cooked to perfection in Mexican style with a flair for contemporary flavours. Vibrant, boisterous, and bold.

Business lunch! Food was quickly delivered after ordering, so gave us plenty of time to talk afterwards!!

Good Mexican food, creative adult beverages. Our server was very fine as well. Vibe is noisy, which the restaurant seems to want.

Our server was really nice! He was super organized, went out of his way to clear the table when needed, moved things around to make more space and was attentive to our needs. He also was organized for bills which was super nice at the end of the evening. HOWEVER, I hated the table we were given, the area and the table itself was unenjoyable. The music was so loud I could barely hear someone talking that was sitting 2 seats away from me. The temperature in the restaurant was SO hot for the type of weather so it did feel uncomfortable at times. I would say that the ambience was a 2/5 for me. The appys and drinks however, never disappoint!! I LOVE their margaritas, guac and fundito. Unfortunately their tacos are DRY. The pulled beef was super dry specifically last night & Idk what it is but I’m always disappointed with every taco. If you don’t put a lot of sauce on them then they are hard to eat. Anyways, I’ll keep coming back for the margs and appys but I was really disappointed with certain aspects as well.

My family LOVES Anejo! We’ve been dining here for years, and the food and service is always excellent. I’m convinced there’s not better table side guac out there! Highly recommend for happy hour, date night, or a get together with a big group of friends, it’s just the best.
