The food was amazing, especially the spreads. The service was slow and it took forever for the drinks to come out. I ordered a glass of wine that didn’t come out until I was halfway done with my entree. It also felt like the server was trying to upsell us (and talk us out of ordering the restaurant week menu), which was odd in that setting.

The food was fairly mediocre. I ordered the restaurant week menu. The fried calamari was the chewiest I had ever eaten and merely tasted of salt and breading. The pork ribs were too crispy and did not have much flat. .Good attentive service though.

Our visit to Andros Taverna for dinner on January 26, 2025, was nothing short of appalling. My wife and I were shocked by the way we were treated and have never felt so unwelcome at a restaurant before. We had an early reservation at 5 PM. As it was a cold winter night in Chicago, I dropped my wife off at the door while I parked the car. When she entered the restaurant, she was not allowed to sit at our table, even though the restaurant was nearly empty. Instead, she was made to wait in the corner without being offered a drink or even directed to the bar. The host that evening, a woman, displayed a level of rudeness I have rarely encountered in the restaurant industry. I have worked in and around restaurants my whole life, as my father was a consultant and owner of multiple establishments in the Chicago area. This host’s demeanor was entirely unacceptable—she was curt to customers in person and over the phone, unfriendly, and made no effort to greet guests warmly. When I arrived about 10 minutes later and asked my wife if she had been offered a seat, a drink, or even coat service, she told me that none of these courtesies were extended. She described the host as “colder than the polar vortex we just had.” When I approached the host stand to let her know our party was complete, she coldly reassigned us to a small two-top in the center of the dining room next to tables with children, despite plenty of other tables being available along the quieter outer edges. There was no greeting, no coat service offered, and no acknowledgment that we were celebrating my birthday. She dropped our menus without a word, told us we had the table for “an hour and 15 minutes,” and walked away with a smirk. The unwelcoming atmosphere continued throughout the meal. Food was really delicious, I wish I had known how large the portion sizes were before ordering, we ended up ordering way too much food and couldn’t finish it. Flavor was amazing, if you’re not familiar with Greek food, it would be nice to know what each word or style meant. I could hardly hear our server. She was very quiet, but she was very polite and Helpful when we did have questions. I was a little disappointed that we couldn’t get happy hour deals if we were sitting in the dining area. It was only available at the bar which was not advertised on OpenTable or on the website, so I would’ve liked to have known beforehand.

Overall, great experience! Food was high QUALITY featuring a more high end euro palate. It’s a very nice ambiance, making you feel comfortable and welcomes an intimate setting. If you’re looking for a good dinner option or planning a date night you should consider. Friendly service and very patient. I will definitely be paying them another visit.

Great ambiance, delicious food and fantastic wine selection! The dips were a standout. Overall, a lovely experience, though the seating near the valet area was a bit distracting.

Had a fantastic dining experience at Andros last night. The cocktails were so tasty (Midas touch and golden age). My boyfriend loved the beets and feta he finished the whole plate! The Avgolemono took me straight to Greece. The lamb chops and bones were a highlight for me. The sea bream was divine. The baklava froyo was one of the best desserts I’ve had in the city. WILL be returning to Andros very soon :).
