We have eaten at Anchor Sushi monthly since it opened and were never disappointed until last night. And how disappointed we were. We brought an out of state friend to show off our "neighborhood gem". When we showed for our 6:45 reservation, the restaurant was 2/3 empty and it remained that way. Getting a weeknight reservation was a challenge just 3 or 4 months ago. Our disappointment started when we saw my wife's favorite (coconut chicken salad) had been removed from the menu. We plowed on and ordered wine (the pours were small, maybe 4 oz) and apps, edamame, crispy chicken bao buns (delicious but with less chicken than on our last visit) and the Tokyo Cheeseburger. Amazingly, the Tokyo Cheeseburger was "sold out" at 7 pm on a Tuesday in an empty restaurant. The two apps came promptly with our wine. However, it took 20 minutes and three requests for an extra glass of ice, and two requests for a third napkin/silverware set. We next ordered Emerald Kale Salad with chicken added (small, basically tasteless with little or no chicken) and the Short Rib Yaki Noodles (delicious but smaller than on our last visits) and dumplings, Sashimi or spicy tuna roll (no complaints with those three). Finally we got to one of our favorite deserts in Dallas, Lemon Meringue Pie. It was FROZEN. Like difficult to cut with a knife frozen like a rock. Rather than complain, we just wanted out. While we might return, it will be months. We need to forget about last night which may be hard.

Anchor Sushi Bar is an eclectic experience. The Sushi is very high quality. Service was great. We loved the tuna on rice cakes and all the dumplings are delicious. The menu has some new items weekly so looking forward to trying something new in the future

Great service, food, ambience and fantastic Old Fashion. Overall we had very good experience dining at Anchor Sushi Bar.

The food was great, but this place is very loud. We went to dinner early with my parents, and even though very few people were there, the music in the restaurant was very loud. I asked if it could be turned down, and I was told that the manager would likely not honor that request. The host was very understanding. Even with carpet on the floor, it’s just a louder environment. If you are wanting a place with great food and a quieter atmosphere where you don’t have to yell across the table, you may want to consider another restaurant.

They have aded a lot to the Menu in the last 6 months, but the drinks are great, sushi rolls are terrific. A good value for Dallas quality food.
