At the intersection of Harbor Point and Fells Point, Ampersea is redefining cuisine that's modern, Maryland, authentic. A destination innovating the way Baltimore dines on the Patapsco River. Perched on the western corner of Thames Street and located in the Frederick Douglass-Isaac Myers Maritime Museum building with the Living Classrooms Foundation, Ampersea dining room, patio, and event spaces offer a stunning combination of panoramic harbor views, impeccable service, and delectable dishes. During our busy season the restaurant has policies in place that may affect your reservation. please review the following:

- All parties larger than 4 people must call into the restaurant to schedule their reservation.

My friend and I went to Ampersea on a Friday for happy hour. We sat at the bar although we had a table reservation because we found out that happy hour specials are only honored at the bar. No big deal since the bar was pretty empty when we arrived. I’m so glad we opted for bar seating because we met Oscar the bartender and Lamont (one of the owners) and they were so welcoming, accommodating and thoroughly entertaining. We laughed nonstop! Oscar made me the best Peartini I’ve ever had. It was so fresh and crisp with the perfect amount of alcohol in it. For food, we ordered the Brussels Sprouts, Shrimp Ceviche, Shrimp Deviled Eggs and Crab Dip Pretzel. Everything was delicious! Tip: use your crab dip pretzel like a tortilla chip with the ceviche!!! Life changing. We’ll definitely be back!

I ordered a crab cake and not only did it come out 30-45 mins later .. it fell apart and didn’t taste good enough for me to be waiting all that time. My appetizer(crab dip) was acceptable and tasty but my service was definitely 2/5

The space is beautiful. The food was underwhelming, especially for the price. The salmon was incredibly overcooked and the scallops were not cleaned. This is corn season so why did they use frozen corn? The most frustrating was that the waiter appeared with the bill but did not have a bill to show us, just asked for a card. I asked to see the bill and was told he could not until I paid???????????? And seemed to want to hide that they auto add gratuity.

This was our first time trying Ampersea and we loved it! Turned out to be a beautiful evening to sit outside by the water and there was a wonderful breeze to keep us cool. I can imagine how lovely it is at night! We will definitely have to come back.

I’m a regular, been a customer since pre-pandemic and so I chose Ampersea for my birthday. Mistake! I guess the management and staff were new. I waited 20 minutes for a waiter to acknowledge my party…I had to flag down the manager to get service. Food took a really long time-too long. The location on the water, the sunset views, and the food make it possible to overlook the indifferent service. Tables nearby appeared to have a great experience and attentive waiters. Just not my night I guess but it was a bust as far as birthdays go.
