great food at an exceptionally marvelous setting. early dining (7pm) offer moderate rock music which was much appreciated - as the evening progressed (8:30ish) it turned more like other restaurants that think they are a nightclub with pounding, non-interesting sounds. overall - most enjoyable

I absolutely loved Amour! The vibe of it all was beyond amazing. The only issue I found is that the truffle pasta was undercooked and the food temp was off. For a fine dining restaurant, I definitely expected better. Another critique I would have is the “wellness fee”. If you’re gonna be a fancy restaurant, you shouldn’t subject your patrons to cover the wellness expenses of your staff. It’s something a cheap restaurant would do and personally, I find it rather distasteful. Other than that, our server was absolutely fantastic. He gave us enough space and engaged with us when needed. Very knowledgeable and has a nice sense of humor.

It is a beautifully decorated restaurant, but unfortunately the food was disappointing. The truffle pasta was lacking flavor, and the millefeuille was overly sweet with the dulce de leche it was sitting on, it would've been perfectly fine without it. Otherwise the bread and butter was good and the drinks were good as well, I got the Jardin d'Eden.

Great food, terrible service. our waiter was well intended and good natured, but couldn’t hold it together on the basics.

Lovely, cute space. Very nice environment. Staff was wonderful. Unfortunately if you’re a foodie, food was not great. We wanted to love it, but probably wouldn’t rush back.

Beautiful space, great vibe, over priced, unfriendly service. And I HATE any server’s response that begins with “chef prefers…” Tell “chef” that I’m paying the bill, so if I want to pace my own meal because I no longer trust kitchens to do so, I will.

Amour is a very competent restaurant -- excellent food . The butter and bread were outstanding. I had a foam concoction with a poached egg and truffle -- a sort of porridge which was delicious , then the duck. The service was good slightly noticeable but good -- not extremely attentive but very competent. The environment was charming. The prices were high and for that high price I want a little more excitement in the food which was on the prosaic side

Pros: Food was decent, portion wise. Taste was very good, especially a complimentary dish provided by the chef (they should consider adding it to the menu). Presentation of each dish was excellent. Place looked great especially at night. Loved the shabby, chic, rustic French decor. Tables were about few feet apart. We had the bread, cheese plate, truffle pasta, pistachio crust salmon, lavender honey duck breast, and steak au poivre. Each of us had our own favorites. Mine was the duck breast. Our cheese plate had a nice selection but the heat melted a couple soft cheeses. Cons: Mosquitoes. The four of us were leaving with at least 4 bites each. My daughter has 6 from last night. Heat. It’s an extremely hot week in Los Angeles and Amour being a al fresco (open air) restaurant it was still 90 degrees at 7pm. There are 2 ceiling fans that appear to cool the 2 tables directly under them that we were nowhere near. Another table started smoking cigarettes which in a small area emanated over to our table while we were eating. After a few minutes, I asked my family if something was burning or someone was smoking. After that the Maitre D came out I think he was acquainted with them asked them to smoke outside. Not sure if the food took a bit longer to come out than normal or if it was the mosquitoes mixed with heat that wanted us to hurry and get our food. The waitress said they were a bit understaffed when I asked for a couple glasses of ice for our water. Damage: our bill came out to $400 + tip $80 = $480 valet for Sunday was $13 + tip $5 = $18
