Very much enjoyed our first dining experience at Amerigo. An excellent new restaurant in Berkeley Heights serving traditional Italian fare and a nice selection of specials for the evening. Service was great while dining at prime dinner time on a Friday. The pasta fagioli was delicious, the spicy rigatoni vodka hit all marks and the pesto crusted sole special was a definite winner. We will definitely return to try the many other great choices Amerigo has to offer!

Another Italian restaurant?! This was was my first reaction when hearing about Amerigo. Well let me say..I would definitely add Amerigo to the list of “NEW” red sauce joints..just had dinner at Amerigo in Berkeley Heights and it was SOLID. Spicy Rigatoni in Vodka Sauce is Stellar, The Chicken Scarparello was prepared the right way, with spicy sausage, potatoes, Calabrian chile. Though we did not try any of the “red sauce” traditional items. I saw many on tables and all looked nicely done. I.E Chicken Parm, Lasagna, etc. I highly recommend & it’s BYOB!

Waiter Bruno is great. Nice atmosphere..one pasta dish was a bit salty but overall nice experience.

First time guest and the manager was accommodating enough to find us a table inside when the rain changed our dining plans. Surprisingly excellent authentic Italian food served in a strip mall location. Very energetic patrons who seemed to be all regulars. So will I.

We were trying for the first time. CONS: First course: Broccoli Rapi was undercooked and inedible-mostly hard stalks. Tri-colore salad nicely presented but the dressing was oily. PROS: I had chicken scarpariello which was spicey and good. Wife had Linguine white clams which was good. The wait staff was outstanding and service to perfection. We will try again.

Shared the eggplant appetizer which was good. We both had the veal Marsala. Veal was tender, roasted potatoes had good flavor and green beans were crisp! Noise level was a little high but the place was full, surprising for a Thursday night! We will return.

A great time and a solid choice for traditional Italian. Love the atmosphere as well. Ordered the Fusilli Puttanesca, wife had the chicken parm. Both delicious.
