Ambrosia was founded on the principle that the best food - and the best times of our lives - begin with love. In the Pizzi family kitchen in Liguria, Italy, the dinner table was a treasured space for family and friends. Since 1979, the Pizzi family, which now includes Gino's daughters Manuela, Anna, and Francesca, has been bringing that same love and commitment to the Ambrosia kitchen. Regular patrons and staff are all part of the family, and first-time visitors are welcomed like old friends.

Celebrated a birthday dinner with seven guests and everyone enjoyed their meal. Anna, our server, was wonderful. Anna served the birthday cake that we brought after dinner. Fun evening, great food & service

Attentive server and the backup staff was on top of everything. Manager came around and checked on us. The food was excellent!

New menu was first class (although didn't enjoy the increase in prices). It was very busy, with no place for walk-ins which made the bar a bit too cozy. Always delicious and great service. A real gem.

We’ve not been to Ambrosia since they moved to this location 8 years ago. We remembered the food being very good, and after all these years, it didn’t disappoint. I now have my favorite restaurant salad-the Tricolore! Chunks of cucumber, red onion, cherry tomatoes, Kalamata olives, mozzarella. The dressing sent this rather ordinary sounding dish over the top! It’s a “must order!” I’ll never be able to recreate that dressing, so I’ll just have to go back and order it again. And again. And…between the four of us, we enjoyed the chicken parm, veal Marsala, veal piccata, and their signature portovenere. No stinginess on the jumbo shrimp! There were many; way more than I could eat. Sooo good! Everything was hot, tasty, and enjoyed by us all. For dessert we shared their pistachio cake and the bourbon butter cake, which was our favorite of the two. Now. A few downsides. The calamari was just ok. Nothing special. We’ve had better at other Italian restaurants in Indy. And it was very loud! We remember the old location being quiet and quaint. This is a lively space, cool looking with a more modern feel. Dark, high ceilings, and spacious. We were under a speaker which didn’t help. From a service standpoint, it was outstanding, and I don’t make that claim lightly. Between our server (so sorry, I can’t remember her name!) and who we thought was the manager, we were cared for, appreciated, and made to feel like regulars. Just a wonderful experience!

Unfortunately, this time around it was not good. I know all restaurants off evenings, but this was really bad. My husband and I had gone the previous Sunday and it was amazing so I wanted to take my granddaughters and my daughter-in-law to enjoy it and it didn’t turn out so good , we were celebrating birthdays they never acknowledged that with a dessert or whatever they do, even though they asked if we were there celebrating, they somehow had big crowd, and our waitress disappeared for ages. The food was not hot. My drink was not good. We didn’t have time for dessert as we had to get one granddaughter back home And the waitress never came back to even ask if we wanted dessert we were going to get an espresso cocktail but were told it would take 20 minutes or longer because they had already made over 100 and had to regroup. It’s going to take me a while before I go back even though they comped some of the things that we got it just wasn’t at all what I had hoped it to be.

Our server Kate was fantastic and set the tone for the night. The food was fantastic, including the best Lasagna I have had in a long time. Very good restaurant the atmospher was great as well.

All good all the time. Best Italian cuisine in Indy. And a throwback to the good old days when fine restaurants were family-owned and operated.

This local gem always has wonderful service and amazing food. Would recommend starting with the Arancini or Fried Ravioli then move on to their Carbonara and then top it all off with the Tiramisu or Bourbon Butter Cake.

We sat outside so there was some noise but it didn’t interfere with our dinner. Food was great, wine also and David is always a great server.
