Ambrosia was founded on the principle that the best food - and the best times of our lives - begin with love. In the Pizzi family kitchen in Liguria, Italy, the dinner table was a treasured space for family and friends. Since 1979, the Pizzi family, which now includes Gino's daughters Manuela, Anna, and Francesca, has been bringing that same love and commitment to the Ambrosia kitchen. Regular patrons and staff are all part of the family, and first-time visitors are welcomed like old friends.

A solid neighborhood restaurant with a small, but diverse menu with a little something for everyone. It's hard to do it year after year as a restaurant. Ambrosia does it at a high level.

Anna is a wonderfulr server. We all had different proparations of veal and all were good. Food was brought quickly and hot. Bill was reasonable. A quiet, winter night at Ambrosia!

Has quickly become one of our favorite date night restaurants. The food is the most authentic Italian I have had in Indy and compares closely with the food made by my Italian mother and Grandmother growing up. Love the calamari served with legs, not just rings. Love the wedding soup as well. Another favorite is the piccata. Also enjoy the linguine & shrimp.

The special halibut on lemon orzo was delicious, and a substantial amount of fish. The gnocchi was excellent, as was the tiramisu, which was the best we have ever eaten. The staff was excellent, as was all of the food. We visited from out of town, and the reviews inspired us to try this great restaurant. We will definitely return.

First, Ambrosia recently changed its hours and while the website and Open Table have caught up, Yelp has not. Needs to be addressed because when we arrived we had 10 minutes to order. Second, I had the fettuccine with scallops, shrimp and mussels. I substituted a more friendly sauce than the cream sauce that was advertised. The mussels, however, were inedible. They were old, and apparently no one in the kitchen tasted them to test. We had two of our three taste them at our table and we all agreed. Our excellent server, Kate (I think), took the dish off the bill, but that should just not happen.

Great place overall. Dinner good wine overpriced. $17 9oz glass... Dessert came from Costco but der ice was on point and dinner was good.

The food was some of the best I have had in the United States for Italian food. The wait staff was excellent and very attentive. The only derogatory thing was our seating was very chilly. When they open the back door, it seems to cause the main room to get a cold draft. If we go back, we will request to sit in the bar area or next to the fireplace.
