Our dining experience is inspired by the progressive thinker and pioneering scientist Lady Amber Fitzwilliam, who ran her famous Thursday Club from the hotel in the early 20th century.

In keeping with the spirit of Lady Amber Fitzwilliam, whose famous Thursday Club ran for many years at the hotel, we offer relaxed entertainment in the luxurious setting of Amber’s restaurant every Thursday night. Sample delicious food and an elegant drinks menu to a backdrop of live acoustic music from a handful of carefully chosen local artists. £30 per head for 2 courses or upgrade to 3 course for an additional £7.50 per head. Friends of Amber's are welcome to use their 20% discount. Live music between 6.30pm and 7.15pm & 7.45pm and 8.30pm

Our first visit since the extensive refurbishment which has been carried out superbly. The room was very well served by the excellent polite and friendly staff who had just the right amount of attentiveness without intrusion. The food choice was good and the quality of food was also good and well presented. Thoroughly enjoyed an excellent meal for our wedding anniversary. Thanks to all involved.

From the moment we walked to the bar and ordered our cocktails to the end of the evening, we had a fantastic night. All of the staff, without exception, were friendly and attentive. The food was superb. The music provided a great atmosphere. We had the best night in ages. Thank you all

Lovely food, relaxed atmosphere, great venue, live music was a nice sound system at a really good volume allowing conversations with ease.

First visit to Ambers. The room is large and spacious. It has recently had a makeover and is very impressive. We also enjoyed the food (Thursday Club: 3 courses for £37.50 plus matching wines @ £15). Will be back.

Food was excellent again, and the people were friendly as always. The service was a little slow to first course and in-between courses, but this may have been due to another event that was clearly going on. Would highly recommend though, and we will be returning.

Our first visit to Ambers and the Thursday Club and what a lovely experience, beautiful surroundings, lovely back ground music, attentive polite friendly staff, and food that tasted as good as it looked. Double baked cheese soufflé was DIVINE. Can highly recommend Ambers and will definitely be back.
