In keeping with the spirit of Lady Amber Fitzwilliam, whose famous Thursday Club ran for many years at the hotel, we offer relaxed entertainment in the luxurious setting of Amber’s restaurant every Thursday night. Sample delicious food and an elegant drinks menu to a backdrop of live acoustic music from a handful of carefully chosen local artists. £30 per head for 2 courses or upgrade to 3 course for an additional £7.50 per head. Friends of Amber's are welcome to use their 20% discount. Live music between 6.30pm and 7.15pm & 7.45pm and 8.30pm

The restaurant is a stunning room. The menu is a great selection. We were left waiting a long time to order food, several staff members ignored us. The food came very slowly and not all together so some were waiting a long time to start. 2 of us had roasted which was perfectly pink but stone cold. We sent them back. We then waited so long the others were almost finished. The. Had to wait for vegetables. We ordered dessert but had to leave before it arrived. The roast was tasty. We want to try again but 2 out of 3 visits we have had to wait a long time and had to give up on dessert.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening at the Thursday Club. Everything from the service, the food and our friends’ company made it an evening we will remember. We will return in the very near future, thank you.

Had a really lovely Sunday lunch at Amber’s. Beautiful room, tasty food with generous portions. Staff are friendly. Just needed more diners. I will spread the word

Very good food and wine and service. Beautiful room and the noise level was so much lower than in most restaurants.

The setting is fine, the food was very good and the serving staff were very pleasant. The huge downside was we had to wait well over an hour for our main course. It was after a customer that placed her order about 45 mins after us got served before that we had to voice our concerns. The waiter blamed it on the kitchen, of course, but we weren’t offered a free drink or a discount. This spoilt an otherwise pleasant experience.
