    Food was great! Will definitely come again. Our server, although polite, professional & took his time explaining food items, could have come back more often for reordering. On a whole, my son & I gave the experience a 4/5*.

    Having a Croatian and Serbian background, this place made me smile. It is beautiful and the food was amazing. I love getting to try new things and this place was perfect for that!

    The food was awful, especially compared to previous visits. Ambar has truly become a mediocre brunch spot -they have compromised on providing quality Balkan food in the name of maximizing brunch guests they can serve. The space was far too loud. The server was initially very nice, but the restaurant threatens a 2 hour time limit, but then doesn't take your first order until 20 minutes after you've been seated. We had to keep track of items we ordered because several never arrived. When we check on their status our service became noticeably less nice to our table. When we attempted to order more rounds of food and drinks the server became even less happy. I get it, you want us to spend money and not eat or drink much, but if it bothers you that we do the opposite of that then don't offer unlimited and bottomless options. The cocktails were warm in the final rounds, no ice, no refrigeration. Overall a terrible experience.

    Best were the slow roasted lamb, beef kabobs, Balkan salad, veal soup and spreads.

    The food was great so was our server. We had the unlimited tapas lunch which was perfect for catching up with an old friend between plates.

    We brought our daughters to the Capitol Hill location for the first time. We all loved it! Even what seemed like what would be a simple dish was prepared with terrific spices and great presentation. Our waiter, Courtney, was personable, made great recommendations and very attentive. Never low on food…except when we needed a break. We got a bottle of red wine for half price on Sunday and Courtney recommended a Grapefruit Fizz mocktail for my daughter that was out of this world. Will definitely be going back!

I've had the privilege of working with him my entire time at Ambar and watching him grow from a shy busser to the incredibly out-going young man he is today.     We went on a Sunday evening and had the unlimited dinner. The food was great! The service was good and we enjoyed the pace that the food was coming out. Also, our server Jasmine was great! We loved her energy, her kindness, and how she paid attention to us and made sure we were doing alright during our time. Jasmine gave great recommendations on the menu as well. Overall, we really enjoyed our time and will be coming back!
