Unlimited small plates-out of the 10 or so we tried 3 were very good lamb medallions/short rib goulash/lamb lasagna/. 3 were just okay Fried Chicken/pepper and cheese croquettes/meat pie/ 3 were not great- chicken stroganoff/chicken skewers/pork belly stuffed cabbage/. The baklava was disappointing. The service was exceptional and the food arrived quickly . Note the 3% surcharge that is automatically added to the bill. $400- 4 people with a couple of drinks apiece.

One of the best food experiences in DC. Located in the heart of Shaw, this restaurant offers so many diverse selections with unique spices. When making a reservation select “Bar” because it would be upstairs where the experience is even better.

I’ve visited the Clarendon location and this was my first time visiting the Shaw location. I really enjoyed my meal and hope to be back soon!

Honestly I was a little skeptical because the menu was out of my comfort zone. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the meal was not only exquisite but the attentiveness of our waiter was on par with the food if not better! We did the bottomless drinks and food and were able to get in four drinks during our dine in period and that was more than enough. I would highly recommend this restaurant to family and friends and anyone that will listen to me speak about Ambar lol.

First time dining at Ambar Shaw and the 3 of us enjoyed our meal. We tried so many small plates that we lost count. We liked some more than others, but overall it was excellent. The service was outstanding, as was the ambiance.

Beautiful environment. All the staff were pleasant and attentive to the customers. Everyone had inviting smiles and positive energy. The old fashioned and red sangria drink were my favorite. The food experience was amazing. Overall, I rate my experience, establishment, food and drinks 10/10.
