    As usual, we found Ambar's food excellent. And we had a wonderful server. However, Ambar's price regime is extraordinarily expensive, i.e., its food, while excellent, is overpriced. And the noise level in the Clarendon restaurant remains unacceptably high. There were three of us and we could not have a good conversation the evening we were there until Ambar began to empty out. We have complained about this for at least a year yet management has done nothing about it. Though we like the restaurant and we love the Balkan experience it offers, we will be reluctant to return...sadlyl

    The one price menu is a very good value. The portion size is just right for trying many things on the menu. All the wines are from Eastern Europe (Serbia, Moldovan, etc.) which makes for an authentic experience and they are of good quality. Be sure to come with a healthy appetite and pace yourself so you can taste wide variety of their offerings.

    Social Media overhyped this establishment. It is very well decorated but the food was very bland and tasteless. I went for brunch and was expecting good food after reading other reviews. However the drinks were good. I would need a few to get past the taste of the food. I have tried over 13 brunch spots in D.C and this has to be one of the most disappointing. Beautiful place , not so great food.

    Excellent service, delicious food, all beverages wonderful whether mock- or cocktail. The space is open, clean, and comfortable and the menu offers a nice selection for every palate. The unlimited brunch option is probably the more cost-effective choice over ala carte, however this was my first time so I didn't know what to expect. We'll return and try little tastes of everything with the Ambar Experience.

    The service was great but the food quality has gone down since pre-Covid. Most of the food was lukewarm, meat was dry, flavors weren't cohesive, and everything was just lacking. It no longer tasted like an executive chef had crafted a menu were the flavors all melded together but now felt like a bunch of cooks were haphazardly following a menu tossed together by a few people. It feels like it was all plated early and dried out in the kitchen and the sauces and seasons just don't make sense. I don't think I'd come back seeing that the food just doesn't isn't the quality it was before and is not worth the price.

    Very poor received Relegated to a poorly lit basement the food is not good and arrived in any order Only the server provides its service correctly in short an expensive and poor quality brunch

    my first visit to the Clarendon location and it won't be my last! very good service and the unlimited brunch did not disappoint. I enjoyed everything served.

    We didn’t order the unlimited tapas/drinks and certainly regretted it! Ordering off the regular menu got us $15-20 entres that were SO small. We left hungry!
