Important to know that if you’d like your own entree you’ll likely be eating alone. They bring entrees out “as ready” which only works if you’re planning to share everything. We were clear we were ordering our own entrees and my wife’s arrived 20 mins after mine.

Amazing food and customer service. I recommend the pork belly skewers and the lomo saltado.

Had one of the most underwhelming experiences to date in DC. It was a combination of expectation and actualization (or lack thereof). Having dined at Causa before, we expected wonderful food, but with a low key vibe and without the multi-course experience. What we received for the price tag was bad service and bland food. The server seemed nice at first but was not knowledgeable about the fish which is weird to me when the pricetag is $140 - $350+ per whole fish selection and there is a whole menu dedicated to fresh fish that they say is brought in weekly. She should have at least been able to give us a recommendation for a traditional ceviche - a cornerstone of Peruvian cuisine. Instead she just shrugged, didn't offer any suggestions and didn't ask the chef or anyone else at the restaurant. We were told accommodations couldn't be made for my husband's dietary restriction or my drink when I wanted a different type alcohol in my cocktail. We spent over 30 minutes as a family of 4 researching the different fish on our phones and made out best guess. What arrived was an appetizer portion of bland ceviche. The flavor was so off from not only traditional ceviche but from the ceviche served downstairs at Causa and all other Peruvian restaurants in the DMV. Believe me - we have tried them all more than once! The other dishes were not much better. Food seems to be prepped in advance and then assembled and heated. We ended up going to another restaurant afterwards since 3 of us did not eat. Will never try Amazonia again.

Great experience! Really cool, intimate atmosphere but lovely at the same time with the Peruvian culturr and music! Food was amazing! 😍😍 Also, has a rooftop outdoor seating area which is really neat as well! Will definitely be back!

We ordered the patacones, ceviche amazónico, the pulpo al josper, and the chaufa. Everything was great except for the octopus, it had a lot of spices

Fernando, the bartender, makes drinks the likes of which you cannot imagine. He played a core role in the meteoric rise of Amazonia, and if he ever leaves, I will stop coming.

We had cocktails they were amazing. The atmosphere is always great. Our services Lana is not only such a wonderful host but takes times to understand your individual drink profile to make sure everyone has an enjoyable experience. Favorite place for cocktails and and lovely date night.

I was not impressed by the ceviche. It was ok. Have had way better. The lomo was salty. The wagyu skewers were also a disappointment coming from Texas and being very familiar with wagyu meat.
