As one of the first Amazonian restaurants in the U.S., discover the exotic flavors and ingredients from Peru's rainforest, as well as favorite Peruvian staples. Here you can explore a thoughtfully curated selection of pisco and imaginative cocktails. I’ve often been told that Peruvian cuisine is one of the most sublime and inventive in the world, and thanks to Amazonia I now believe it (forgive me for thinking it was just roasted chicken on a spit). The menu offers numerous pathways to enjoy your meal, including complex ceviches, grilled skewers, larger fish dishes and even top-quality sashimi. So don’t go there with anyone who doesn’t like to share food! For us the highlights were the ceviche-ish tuna, the salad with hearts of palm, the dishes with plantain and at the end, the small but dense chocolate cake. And of course the Pisco Sours—lots of Pisco Sours! Note that a 20% service charge is automatically added to your bill; additional tipping is not obligated.

We had a great time at Amazonia. The staff was extremely attentive and pleasant. The food was served quickly and was absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend.

Amazonia is my favorite restaurant in the DMV (the world?? MAYBE). Service, ambiance, drinks, food, quality - all 10/10. The Ocopa (spelling?) and house pisco sour are delicious cocktails and the maduritos shareable is a must try.

Food is less creative and move expensive than before. That’s a shame. Some portions (eg ceviche) are shockingly small.

Server answered questions but did not offer much info and seemed disinterested. He did not describe dishes very well and it was hard to attract his attention. Food was bland and over-priced. Ceviche was just some cubes of fish in a little sauce, no vegetables or spice. All six of us were disappointed.

The atmosphere was amazing, and the food was even better. From the fish, to the anticuchos, to the lomo saltado, and the dessert. It was all amazing. 10/10 recommend.

Great experience; attentive yet not intrusive service. The food is well seasoned, but balanced flavors. The ceviche was bright and fresh, the antichuchos are sublime bites, the chicken sandwich is an absolute hit (the fluffiest and lightest bread!) just great good.

My waitress (don’t remember her name) was an extraordinary server. She was attentive, knew the menu in detail and how each dish was prepared, gave the story behind each dish and suggested wonderful dishes for me. I traveled all the way from GA to DC to try this place and she made my birthday dinner experience lovely. My name is Gia and i had the same birthday as her daughter (October 11). The seafood dishes were delicious, but the waygu beef was overcooked and flavorless. The wine list is also a little lacking. The decor is gorgeous, but very loud!!
