Now open at Ala Moana Center! Located street-level, mauka-side between Macy’s and Barnes & Noble (below Lanai food court).
Chef Hideo Ohmiya invites you to experience thoughtfully-crafted omakase sushi course featuring seasonal ingredients flown fresh from Toyosu Fish Market.

Please inform us upon arrival of any dietary restrictions and if you prefer no wasabi.

The fish are all fresh and good quality, my friend and I prefer shima aji, tile fish, uni, and the temaki with toro and pickled daikon. Will come back to try lunch course.

The quality of the fish and seafood was outstanding. The entire omakase dinner was fresh and flavorful. The presentation was impeccable. We have dined at several of the noted omakase restaurants in Honolulu, and Amaterasu ranks at the top. Highly recommended.

Amaterasu has moved from its previous location at the Artizen bar inside Velocity to its own shop on the first floor of Ala Moana (directly under The Lanai). Chef Hideo is still at the helm creating an elegant experience for $89 lunch and $150 dinner, all BYOB, with exceptional fish selections, preparation, and service. Our recent dinner here was perfection. I've been to multiple different omakase in this price point on the island and Amaterasu continues to be my favorite. It's the right balance of traditional and modern in a comfortable, beautiful setting, with a small bar seating of 7 people. Every piece is perfectly constructed with care. He does prefer specific kinds of seafood, such as engawa, toro, mackerel, amaebi. Will return!

One of the best omakase I’ve been too. The quality of the food and the overall experience was 10/10. Definitely will be back!

Aloha, Amaterasu Sushi has opened a brick-and-mortar restaurant in Ala Moana Shopping Center, 1st floor near Macy's and Barnes and Noble (below Lanai FC). If you've been to chef's pop-up at Artisan in the Velocity luxury car dealership, you'll be happy to visit here soon. Currently BYOB at $150 for the dinner Omakase of 14 dishes, such happiness, I promise! Fresh, authentic fish and dishes. There's a 7 seater bar as well as a 10 seater dinning table, so bring your friends or make new ones! Service, Food and space all were divine! Enjoy!

Only seats 6 at the counter, there’s also a table for up to 10 people. Fish is fresh and a good variety too.

I only had I issue and it is a minor one. If it's your first the there, you probably won't be able to find the entrance. Other than that, great food. The sushi chef was talented and had great communication.

Absolutely one of the best and most interesting sushi experiences ever. The food was amazing, so fresh with perfect combinations of flavors with every bite. The experience is so unique sitting at a 6 person sushi bar in a high end car showroom was also something we could not have imagined. The chef Hideo was so nice and so pleasant, he is so knowledgeable and skilled at his trade. We were the only 2 people at the bar and had amazing service. I would highly recommend, this is something not to miss if you are in the area

A sushi bar in an upscale car showroom? An interesting concept and worth checking out. The sushi chef is very personable and his sushi is creative, artful and delicious! Loved the uni butter that was flame-melted onto the sushi. It was quieter than I thought it would be since there were no cars starting up while we were there. It's a 6-seat sushi bar so very intimate. You definitely leave wanting more.
