Open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, Amalfi Cucina & Mercato - Downtown Atlanta is a traditional Neapolitan trattoria centered around an open kitchen featuring a 6,000 pound wood-burning brick oven imported from Italy. The 170 seat dining room also has large semicircular booths, custom wrought iron chandeliers along with Juliet balconies overlooking an Italian-inspired entryway. Originating in and the true pizza of Naples in the 1600s, Vera Pizza Napoletana is 12 inches or less in size, made from simple fresh quality ingredients from the Campania region of Italy and cooked at temperatures in excess of 900 degrees in approximately 60 seconds. Just launched, a new menu which includes many fresh pastas, salads, appetizers and desserts, including beautiful imported gelato. Enjoy a full bar with local beer on tap, exclusive wine list and specialty cocktails in beautiful Downtown Atlanta.

Ricky the bartender was also our server and he was right on top of things keeping the bar and the tables he was responsible for in his sights! The Pasta with Shrimp and the Chicken Parm were both delicious and our cocktails were worth it. We splurged for dessert - we went for the Tiramisu. Don't miss it. I was a bit disappointed that we had to order a bread basket for $ in order to get a piece of Italian bread but in the scheme of things - it was not a big deal. Cool decor - even if you had to walk up a flight of stairs to get there.

The ambience was great. The service was a little slow at first, but picked up. The food with fantastic. The drinks were well prepared.

Olivia la mesera extraordinaria, la hoste no tanto, nos colocó en una mesa horrible y le pedimos cambiar porque el restaurante estaba vacío y nos lo negó, pero la mesera Olivia entendió y nos cambió

Had a solo dinner on business trip. I had a salad for a starter then veal piccata as a main. Service was very good. Waitress was attentive and efficient. Enjoyed the draft pint a local brew called automatic pale ale. The place was quite busy, so crowd volume was quite high.

The service was terrible, starting upon arrival, when we had made a reservation, but there were no free tables for the number of people and after that the waiter who served us definitely didn't want to be there, he was very rude at times.
