Open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, Amalfi Cucina & Mercato - Downtown Atlanta is a traditional Neapolitan trattoria centered around an open kitchen featuring a 6,000 pound wood-burning brick oven imported from Italy. The 170 seat dining room also has large semicircular booths, custom wrought iron chandeliers along with Juliet balconies overlooking an Italian-inspired entryway. Originating in and the true pizza of Naples in the 1600s, Vera Pizza Napoletana is 12 inches or less in size, made from simple fresh quality ingredients from the Campania region of Italy and cooked at temperatures in excess of 900 degrees in approximately 60 seconds. Just launched, a new menu which includes many fresh pastas, salads, appetizers and desserts, including beautiful imported gelato. Enjoy a full bar with local beer on tap, exclusive wine list and specialty cocktails in beautiful Downtown Atlanta.

Walking into the restaurant it looked nice but smelled like cigarettes. As we came up the stairs and turned the corner the smell died down. This is a nice restaurant with not a long wait time. You could dress up or dress casually and not feel out of place. The service was great, the wait wasn’t too long. The prices were good but bread is not included which was weird. We had to pay $5 for bread but it was pretty good. This is not the best Italian food ever but i would go again. Give it a try.

Good prices for a genuine Italian restaurant, good food, and good service downtown. Try the calamari fritti appetizer!!

One of the worst experiences in service and quality of food we have ever had. The mains came before our drink and apps - yes that is correct. ALL the hot food was cold. Not warm, but cold. The mozzarella in the fried mozzarella was stone cold and the outside was burned...how? The pizza was cold. It was like they microwaved the food.... I can honestly say, will never eat there again.

Overall, food was mediocre at best. The booth where we were seated was very dirty with remnants of pasta between the cushions. The servers were very nice and working very hard.

In town for trade show and ate at the bar. Ricky one of best servers have had, non stop, but always checked in on a busy night with conference in town. Pizza undercooked and salad was large and good.
