    Went early in the week to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday, and to my surprise, the restaurant was very busy. I had made a reservation for 7 PM and noted that we were celebrating a birthday, but when we arrived, they seemed to have trouble finding our reservation. Despite this, they seated us at a small table in the middle of the restaurant, which felt cramped and not ideal for a special occasion. The ambience was beautiful, but it felt like the restaurant was more focused on quantity over quality. The staff was okay overall, but our waitress came off as a bit cold—possibly due to how packed the restaurant was. The food was good, but not exceptional, and the prices felt a bit high for the portion sizes. I was hoping for an elevated dining experience, but instead, it felt rushed and lacked attentive service. If you’re into trendy spots for Instagram photos and upgraded mezzes, this might be your place, but it didn’t quite meet my expectations.

    I had heard many positive comments about Amal from friends and family so I decided to try it to celebrate my wedding anniversary. It was a Monday night and you would think it was Saturday night! It was so busy! The service was great and so was the food. My husband and I shared the Crispy eggplant, the Amal Hummus with tenderloin, a kebab from the Skewers and the grilled shrimp from the Mains. The portions are very generous and we were stuffed! Often times, nice restaurants skimp on the portions but not this place. Our cocktails were also really good. The Amal Espresso Martini is made with cognac and was so good. We really enjoyed this restaurant and will definitely come back!

    Last min plan to go here but wanting to go for some time now. The decor is just AMAZING!!! Overall atmosphere is so good, service was excellent and food really good too! Definitely will be back.

    As always, the food was excellent, and the service elevated the experience even higher. Our server, Mohammed was so sweet and charming and helpful, and made us feel so welcome and delighted to be there. Many people came to our table, bringing their sparkling personalities again increasing the sense of delight. We come there every year for our birthdays and noticed the were many other birthdays being celebrated. Beautiful opulent dining room. A rare Michelin star restaurant In Toronto and quite wonderful

    The food was good. Parking was tough to find but eventually found underground parking. It’s also tough to get a hold of the restaurant. We tried to call several times and it went to voicemail. Otherwise the food was good and the ambiance is nice.

    The food was delicious, beautiful decor very elegant perfect for any occasion, business meetings, dates, girls night out… however our server George was not great, he gave us sass when we asked to split the bill 3 ways. Also i recommend getting the platter rather than the skewers value wise…

    The restaurant is beautiful but very noisy. It was hard to have a conversation and one of our guests wears hearing aids so very difficult for him. 2/3 of the meals were divine. The lamb chops were overdone so they had to remake them. The serving staff don’t know anything about wine. We ordered a 2017 Il Pogonne which as it turns out was not available. They brought us a 2022 and offered it at the “same price” as the 2017 figuring it was “the same”. The sommelier came over and made it right. Overall not the experience I would have expected from a Michelin restaurant.

    I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant for my birthday dinner! The food was excellent, and Nabih, our server, truly made the evening memorable. He took the time to guide us through the menu and offered great recommendations. His attentiveness really enhanced the whole experience. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to treat themselves or their loved ones. The birthday wishes were the perfect finishing touch to the night!!!
