Altland House in Abbottstown is a classic inn and eatery that is housed within an expansive structure that dates back to 1790. Vintage themed décor and hints of modernism blend together to create a unique dining experience within a setting that is warm, inviting and casually comfortable. Altland House features brewery options as well as a food menu and catering is available for special events. Cedar plank bourbon salmon, rib eye, steak and frites, parmesan crusted chicken, filet mignon and crab cheese mac are some highly recommended dishes available.                                                                       Our food was fantastic - the Glazed Ribeye never disappoints! Our server, Jenna, was so pleasant and attentive to our every request!

                                                                      The service was excellent. The food was also quite good. Our only complaint was that the knives provided to cut our steak were perhaps the dullest steak knives ever seen. It was a battle, but we managed to prevail and cut through. The Valentine special dessert was very good. It had gelato, a special cake, and chocolate strawberries.

                                                                      The crabcake and chicken and waffles were very good. The sweet potato fries were perfect. The drinks were a bit overpriced. Biggest complaint was the dining room was cool.

                                                                      Our first time at The Altland House and everything was wonderful. We had a really nice table right in a corner window overlooking the Abbottstown Square waiting for us when we arrived, service was prompt and friendly, and the food was delicious and well portioned. Definitely a gem in the middle of nowhere.

                                                                      The blackened Mahi was excellent. Not too spicy. It was served over cheesey grits. Our server was attentive. Always like the atmosphere at the Altland House.
