Altland House in Abbottstown is a classic inn and eatery that is housed within an expansive structure that dates back to 1790. Vintage themed décor and hints of modernism blend together to create a unique dining experience within a setting that is warm, inviting and casually comfortable. Altland House features brewery options as well as a food menu and catering is available for special events. Our first time here as my wife and I just moved into Gettysburg a few months ago. Several people recommended we try it and so glad we did. Beautiful dining room and Jenna, our server, was so friendly and took great care of us during a busy Saturday night. We had oysters, onion soup, filet mignon and stuffed pork chop. Dessert was the s’mores cake. Everything was well prepared and delicious. We are looking forward to our next visit as they serve lunch and Sunday brunch too.

Very nice restaurant. Warm welcome at entry. Prompt service and a wonderful waitress! Great food with a nice display. Generous servings. Dessert was excellent. Good variety of choices. Will be going back for more!

The Peach Margarita was Amazing! Oyster month is a definite time to go…oysters were delicious as well as the Firecracker Shrimp appetizer. I would also highly recommend the scallops; though they are an appetizer, I ate them as my meal. Service was top notch and though the restaurant can tend to be a little loud, we were there early so I was still easy to have a conversation.

We get together with our neighbors once a month. There are eight of us. We had a great dinner and really liked the atmosphere. It was busy but quiet. We could actually talk to each other and hear what was said. We will be back.

Our reservation was honored as requested. Our waitress was very friendly and efficient. The food was delicious.

We ate one evening meal in the dining room and one late night snack in the basement bar. the meals were both delicious and the waitstaff were prompt and friendly. The beer brewed on site was tasty as well. My wife and I both had the smash burgers which were done perfectly and were quite large. In the basement bar we had a peperoni pizza which was also very tasty.

We always enjoying eating at here. Brussel sprout salad with a massive pc of Salmon added. Made two meals out of this. Second time for ordering the curry mussels, enjoyed both times however the flavor profile was spot on the other month. Tonight was good but. Soup of the evening: MD crab, got rave reviews from the hubby. Always get a side of Brussels to share with the table. Cesar salad with chicken. Chocolate ice cream was licked clean by our friend and I shared the flourless lava cake.
