Alter House Restaurant and Bar is a family owned Farm-to-Table Restaurant and Event Venue dedicated to seasonal, sustainable cuisine. It is our culinary mission to source the finest ingredients from regional farmers, artisan purveyors and local farms whenever possible. Here at Alter House Restaurant and Bar, sustainability is the forefront of our identity. The seasons will define our menu. Our goal at Alter House is to be the restaurant of choice in Northeast Pennsylvania. Depending on the size of the event, the restaurant space can be divided to accommodate large party dinners. Private dining menus are customized by our talented Culinary Team from seasonally-inspired offerings. Our Outdoor Tented Patio and the Private Dining Room located adjacent to the Alter House Restaurant is ideal for daytime business meetings, bereavements, corporate dinners, social celebrations and cocktail receptions. I love the Alter House. The service is good. It's beautiful inside. The food is creative and delicious.

Drinks and Service were 10 out of 10. My wife had the peach martini and it was like biting into a fresh peach. I had a bourbon drink that was super smooth. My basil pasta was a 10 out of 10 but the openings in the fork made it dysfunctional as the pasta was larger than the fork. My wife ordered a fillet medium and it came out rare and bloody which is a turnoff for her. It came out a second time and it was medium rare but the ate most of it.

The food was amazing. Our server don was fantastic. The grill master jay cooked our food perfect. It was our anniversary and they went above and beyond to make it special. I will be back

My husbands Smash burger was so very tasty and excellent as well as truffle fries., my special of the night fish was outstanding as well as the cocktails the bottle of wine the service Andrew, Jason Hayden they all work together as a team it’s outstanding the food was delicious

Great food, great service, a very nice surprise. Definitely will go back again. My only problem was the light that comes in from the exit door in the dining room. If they had a small shade or a drape over the glass it would make the room so much more inviting. But overall great food, great service, very very nice. There's us she raised us

Great food and combinations. A lot of fresh vegetables and fruits. However, disappointed with the strawberry tart. Since they’re big on local fresh, I expected some strawberries. Instead, it was a dry shell with Smuckers on it. Not what I would have expected there. Don’t order the strawberry tart!

Michael, Thank you for your feedback. Since strawberries are out of season now we preserve them to last through the colder months by creating a jam out of them. The tart is a sablee style, meaning it's supposed to crumble and mix with the jam and whipped cream. We have delivered your feedback to our kitchen to continue bettering our menu for our guests. Excellent food&drinks, very good service, lively atmosphere, enjoyable guitar music and a friendly& accommodating waitress who went out of her way to make a birthday celebration special! We especially enjoyed the Seasonal Harvest Bowl and Caesar Salad both with added blackened salmon.
