Alter House Restaurant and Bar is a family owned Farm-to-Table Restaurant and Event Venue dedicated to seasonal, sustainable cuisine. It is our culinary mission to source the finest ingredients from regional farmers, artisan purveyors and local farms whenever possible. Here at Alter House Restaurant and Bar, sustainability is the forefront of our identity. The seasons will define our menu. Our goal at Alter House is to be the restaurant of choice in Northeast Pennsylvania. Our aim is to provide our guests with unique culinary offerings paired with incredible service, in a relaxed and casual atmosphere. My husbands Smash burger was so very tasty and excellent as well as truffle fries., my special of the night fish was outstanding as well as the cocktails the bottle of wine the service Andrew, Jason Hayden they all work together as a team it’s outstanding the food was delicious

Great food, great service, a very nice surprise. Definitely will go back again. My only problem was the light that comes in from the exit door in the dining room. If they had a small shade or a drape over the glass it would make the room so much more inviting. But overall great food, great service, very very nice. There's us she raised us

Great food and combinations. A lot of fresh vegetables and fruits. However, disappointed with the strawberry tart. Since they’re big on local fresh, I expected some strawberries. Instead, it was a dry shell with Smuckers on it. Not what I would have expected there. Don’t order the strawberry tart!

Michael, Thank you for your feedback. Since strawberries are out of season now we preserve them to last through the colder months by creating a jam out of them. The tart is a sablee style, meaning it's supposed to crumble and mix with the jam and whipped cream. We have delivered your feedback to our kitchen to continue bettering our menu for our guests. Excellent food&drinks, very good service, lively atmosphere, enjoyable guitar music and a friendly& accommodating waitress who went out of her way to make a birthday celebration special! We especially enjoyed the Seasonal Harvest Bowl and Caesar Salad both with added blackened salmon.

The food and service were simply outstanding. The cuisine is high quality farm to table. A member of our party has a food allergy and the staff was very attentive to ensure a great experience. The staff was warm and welcoming. We were seated promptly and every aspect of the meal was timely. Their bar menu is also fabulous. If you are anywhere close to the Clarks Summit area, highly recommend Alter House for great cuisine with wonderful service.

Awesome as always. Love the humus fries! So different and unique. Scallop appetizer was perfect. Don’t usually do desert but ordered the chocolate cake. Best I’ve had in a very long time Highly recommended.

A fab get together w/family. Our server was training and was fabulous! Very attentive but not annoying! She timed check backs appropriately !The food and beverages -excellent! Thank you!

Per usual the food was excellent. Service was very good and everything was on point as expected when we come here. Overall, we had a lovely evening.

Dinner tonight with my lifelong friend. We started with the Crab & Brie Fries, Day Boat Scallops, Salt Roasted Beets and Bianco Flatbread, then we continued with the Dinner Specials Lamb Chop with the most scrumptious potatoes and Arctic char. Which I learned the Arctic char is in the salmon family. It looks like salmon and its flavor is somewhere between salmon and trout, slightly more like trout. For dessert we opted for Chocolate cake and Vanilla ice cream. Simply delicious. Everything was fresh and bursting with flavor, the service was wonderful!
