This place was highly recommended online. So we decided to check it out for our first date night in Lancaster. We both work in the service industry so we understand things happen but this is the run down: We entered the rooftop, no host, a few mins later one appears and we’re seated. After 10 mins at least and the host asks if we’ve ordered drinks yet, nope.. Server arrives 4-5 mins later, takes drink order - proceeded to not even enter them, then disappears for the remainder of the evening (mind you there are 5 tables, only one table was eating). Host then follows up and has the bartender make drinks for us. He then asked if we’d like to eat, at this point we’re skeptical and decide to just have our 1 round of drinks. Host was nice, on the way out the server reappears and says goodbye without even acknowledging her lack of service. WOW! Not kidding….

Fantastic service and food and ambience, great menu and cocktails. High quality experience. Rooftop hard to match on a perfect temperate evening. Totally wonderful server named Lily. Quite an experience.

My family and I love the rooftop! The food is consistently good, and the service is great. It also has a wonderful atmosphere. You can always expect a perfect evening with Skip and the team at Altana. If you could give more than five stars, I would.

We’re Lancaster locals and always thought Altana was a little douchy bc their roof top area literally ‘looks down’ on our favorite bar Tellus. But went there for my birthday anyway and boy was I surprised. The atmosphere was elegantly casual, the food was beyond amazing, and the service was genuine and natural. And - bc it was my birthday - I got a free slice of cheesecake with a yummy creme brulle type crunch on the top. We don’t go out for a real dinner often, but next time we do this will for sure be up for consideration.

It was always a fantastic evening on the roof with Skip and the team. We brought friends from out of town (Philly), and they said you had a big city vibe with service they wished they had near them. Your level of consistency is fantastic. We know it will always be a great meal with excellent service when we visit. Thank you all for what you do. See you soon!
