Exceptional, elegant, outstanding. Our waiter Trent was pleasant, courteous, gracious, considerate, thoughtful, understanding, accommodating, attentive and professional. Every dish was exceptional. Chef was superb. Staff was superb. Waiter was superb. View was superb with thanks to the maître d' who was very understanding and accommodating for a window seat. Many Thanks to all.

This was my first time dining at this location, having previously eaten at the one in Fox Chapel. We were originally taken to a table in the back where many large tables were occupied, and it was very loud. So we asked to be reseated at a booth in the bar area. Our waiter seemed disterested throughout, and we had to go get a set of silverware off the bar to eat our dinner. The tuna tartare was very underseasoned. I got a pasta dish and added meatballs. It was underwhelming also. I remember really enjoying my meal and experience at the Fox Chapel location so I may or may not give this restaurant another chance. I'm a big fan of the restaurant group and frequent all of their sister restaurants. It was my birthday and thought I might get a small candy or sweet bite, but only got a candle stuck to a plate.

we started with a chopped salad . not impressive. I had the Bronzino moderate portion , very good. we also got fusilli which was very good and ravioli which was out standing . service free Trent & Carley was attentive. it was busy but not noisy. good location . close to the cultural district .

Delicious food. Terrible service. First time I’ve felt truly ignored by our waiter at a restaurant.

The appetizers were delicious, especially the mussels. The calamari and shrimp appetizer was spot on. We preferred our appetizers to the main meal

The food here is excellent. Every dish was delicious from the shripm and calimari appetizer to the pasta dishes. I am excited to go back and try more of the pastas and also some entrees. The space is really nice. I believe this is the space that used to be Poro's. I avoided that place in the summer as they would open the wall of window/garage and it would make the entire restaurant hot and humid. There seems to be some outdoor space at Alta Via but it seems totally separate. The space inside is lovely and it's much larger than I an anticipated. Sad to say, the service could be improved. Sat at the bar for a drink while waiting for table and it wasn't that busy and bartender was cleaning and didn't notice me or another party for several minutes. When we went to go to the table, the hosts took a very long time to pick where they wanted to seat us, which is fine, but it was very awkward. I had already checked in when I arrived and told them I was early and going to the bar, so not sure why it took so long when we went to get our table. They made zero eye contact and didn't at least say anything like "just a moment, sorry I am just trying to find the table." Just silently looking at the iPad. When got to table, we waited a very long time for the server to come. Once they did arrive, all was fine but it was a rough start. Food and rest of the experience were very good.

CRABCAKE WAS OUTSTANDING! Service generally good, but aoli on the crabcake was supposed to be on the side but was added to the sandwich. We were celebrating a birthday, yet I was charged for her dessert. No salt/pepper NOT ON THE TABLE. Somewhat disappointing that details weren’t handled very well.

This was our second visit to this location. It’s popular and classy. I do wish they offered soup as an option. We each went with the excellent Caesar salad. Crisp and tasty with a nice creamy lemony Caesar dressing but one big complaint: it was $15 and easily enough to serve two or more. How about a smaller size? We tried two different pastas which were excellent. And we shared a serving of wonderful gelato. Polished service and friendly staff.
