Fresh handmade pastas and grilled meats and vegetables are the heart of Alta Via. Seasonal, modern Italian cooking with passionately-sourced ingredients celebrates the way we like to live and like to eat; fresh, clean, active.

Lunch is offered Monday-Saturday from 11:30am-4:00pm, and Brunch is offered on Sundays from 11:00am-3:00pm. Dinner is offered Monday-Saturday starting at 4:00pm, and on Sundays starting at 3:00pm.

Food was OK. Nothing special. We had the ricotta and fig toast appetizer. It was pretty bland. I had the ravioli with crab. It wasn't cooked all the way, hard around the edges but it was tasty enough. The service was really good and prices were reasonable.

It was not our first time dining at Alta Via Market Square. Again, it was very good! We shared the ricotta ravioli, the mushroom Bolognese and the roasted duck entree. ALL delicious.

Always great food and excellent service. The focaccia is delicious. The baby artichokes were so good with an amazing light flavorful sauce. I love the small plates and half portions of pasta so we can try many things. Highly recommend

I had the AV burger and frankly I’d never have it again. The beef short rib sugo over powered the burger. My wife’s was rare and she asked for medium, very pink inside. Mine should have been medium well and it was pretty rare too but I ate it anyway. I recommend sticking with pasta

We went for brunch, our first time. Everything was delicious. The biscuits with the fig balsamic butter were outstanding. All the baked goods, we were told, are made on site and you can tell. The focaccia that came with my Eggs in Purgatory and my husband’s short rib scramble were so good. it was a great experience from start to finish and our server Neil was excellent.

We've dined at the Alta Via in Fox Chapel and had wonderful experiences there, but the new location in downtown takes everything up a notch. The space is beautifully re-done and provided a lovely, quiet dining experience. From the moment we walked in the door until the moment we left, the staff was friendly and attentive. Dinner choices were varied and hard to choose between (I had the Gemelli, my husband the halibut) and our final sections were perfectly prepared, beautifully presented and were absolutely delicious. They also have a pretty darned good wine list and drinks menu. The best part is their pricing - they don't break the bank for outstanding food, drink and service-very fair prices overall. Highly recommend Alta Via. Hope they are finally the restaurant that can "stick" and stay in that space on Market Square for a long time. I know we will absolutely return again and again.

Went here for dinner and we ordered quite a bit! We got the fig and ricotta toast, which was a table favorite, but small so order 2 for more than 4 people. The olives were also awesome, very citrusy, and there were a ton of olives on the plate. More than enough for 4 people. We tried several pastas, and the fusilli was awesome! Great wine selection too.
