Classic steakhouse meals define the cuisine at Al’s: certified Angus beef, fresh fish, a variety of delicious appetizers and salads fill the menu. It’s perfectly complemented by classic cocktails, an extensive wine list, and uncompromising service.

Al’s is the first and only restaurant in Ottawa to cook its beef on live charcoal, giving steaks their distinctive signature taste. Al’s famous garlic salad dressing is included on a starter salad with most meals, and is bottled and sold in-house and in grocery stores throughout the city.
Open daily for lunch and dinner Al’s has ample free parking, can host over 100 diners in private events, and features a menu that will satisfy all tastes.

My scallops were not fresh. The steak my son had was not worth it - in his words. Wait staff was very friendly. The appetizer fried calamari was excellent.

We went to Al’s for our 40 th wedding anniversary. Ordered the escargot as an appetizer. The escargot were overcooked and lacking garlic. Then ordered the black peppercorn Filet Mignon steak. The salad, steak, and mashed potato were good. I had asked if I could bring in a bottle of my wine to have with dinner and pay a corkage fee but was told no that they don’t allow that. Tried the blueberry cheesecake recommended by our server Steffi and it was delicious.

Filet mignon Steak was great, lobster tail was over cooked. Waitress was lovely but forgot our ice for wine, Mac & cheese we ordered and ordered special baked potato but got standard one. Was quite expensive for what we had

We love Al’s and everyone else does, too! Service is always so upbeat and attentive. Steaks are great value with the salad and side. Wine list is excellent. Seafood yummy, too. Highly recommend. We go often.

Sam, the owner, is an absolute gem! Fantastic service and they are super attentive with every table! Happy hour is great value and the servers are all wonderful! Will be back again and again! Consistent, delicious and a true Ottawa staple!

My partner and I went to celebrate a great business days ith some wonderful ribeye steaks along with a beautiful bottle of Amarone. We were lucky enough to get a window seat to enjoy people watching along with the great meal. The service was exceptional. It was attentive, wine glasses unobtrusively being topped and left alone at the end of the meal to chat and savour the last of the wine.
