Alobar Downtown is nestled in the heart of Toronto's bustling Financial District. Alobar Downtown offers revelry in the bar and lounge and warmth in the dining room, both featuring menus from Michelin-starred chef Patrick Kriss. World class wines are displayed as a centrepiece to pair with choice seafood, grilled fish and prime chops. All served with genuine hospitality.

Join us for happy hour on weekdays from 2.30pm-5.30pm. Available at our bar, lounge, and our covered and heated patio.

We feature live DJ sets Wednesdays through Saturdays starting at 5pm!

For groups of 11+, please book our Group Dining, Family Style Experience or contact us at info@alobardowntown.com.

For groups larger than 8 guests, we are unable to provide individualized bills, however we are able to process as many payments as required.

Love visiting Alobar, the food is always so, so delicious! Service is top-notch and professional. The food is worth the prices. A little critique - wear/bring a sweater, its always cold and the noise levels are loud, even when the restaurant is half full.

Since last time we had dinner in Alobar Yorkville, we haven't got to Alo group for more than a year. We have high expectations as the Alobar Yorkville experience is quite good. This time, we had a chance to have dinner at Alobar Downtown. Upon arrival, we found out this location, had more seats, and focused more on prime steaks on the menu. We ordered the bread, New York Striploin, and confit duck pasta. After 20 mins, our server told us they were running out of bread, so we ordered cocktail prawns to substitute. The steak comes out nicely to medium rare, definitely a good quality and value for the price. The duck confit pasta is not as good as the Yorkville location because the pasta is a bit undercooked, in my opinion, and a bit on the salty side. Then, to our surprise, the bread came! Don't get me wrong, our server is a nice guy, but he's a bit miserable. We asked the waitress who brought us the bread, and she said there's always bread in our location. We ended up packing half of the bread to go. I felt like our server is lying as well because he might felt that we didn't order $100 or above per person. Honestly, I usually ordered enough and not preferred to pack home. Also, our server promised to include non-alcoholic sparkling wine for our celebration, and it never came. Finally, the bill came and overcharged by $14. Overall, not a highly recommended dining spot. Black and Blue is just across the street. They are more welcome and less pushy for ordering food.

Excellent spot for lunch. Will visit again. Do find the restaurant too loud. Needs some intervention to reduce sound boucing off walls.

We found the food to be very good. The service was quite lacking. The ambience was very loud. I felt based on the reputation the service should have been a lot better. We had to ask for the chefs menu and wine pairings. Wasn’t offered up at beginning. Server wasn’t aware of pricing. Has to check. My cocktail arrived with the first round of pairings for first course. Yet my husband had has his for quite some time. No mention was made of my husbands birthday which was highlighted at arrival. And I was over charged by $110.00 for a second wine pairing set that luckily I noticed and they rectified. All in all. I wasn’t overly impressed. Won’t return when there are so many other places in the city to try.

Business lunch, Happy Hour or romantic dinner this is the place. For people that don’t appreciate quality ingredients it may seem expensive but actually the quality food,skilled preparation and great service is the true value. Steaks are amazing, wine selection fantastic and cocktails made with care by true bartenders. Love this restaurant group philosophy!

We came here for happy hour and ordered some things off the main menu which was all excellent. The service was impeccable, Christian was our main server but we felt like everyone worked as a team. There was no "let me find your server" whenever we asked for something, no matter who we ordered from when they came to check up on us we would be served with smiles and professionalism. I would come back here, the desserts were exceptional. I would make it a point to come back here just for the tiramisu which was presented beautifully.

service was pretty bad and staff didn't provide any guidance on menu and it took a very long time for them to take our order and bring the food. It was also very loud.
