Alma is a restaurant based on the tastes and experiences of our kitchen team focusing on modern Chinese cuisine headed by Chef/Owner Anna Chen.
We are built around food that uses fresh, simple, quality ingredients and our focus is to create a unique dining experience.
Our beverage program is focused on Natural Wines curated by Sommeliers Kate Densmore and Ben Dalton.
As of September 2022, Alma has been recognized by the Michelin Guide as a recipient of the Bib Gourmand award.

Alma signifie « gentil » ou « nourrissant » en latin, ce qui correspond bien à l'ambiance chaleureuse et à la cuisine sincère de la chef Anna Chen. Des plats comme les calamars au curry, qui s'inspirent de l'héritage chinois des Hakkas et de l'éducation indienne de Chen, ont le pouvoir inventif nécessaire pour que le restaurant soit distingué par le guide MICHELIN, tout en étant suffisamment accessible pour qu'Alma devienne le favori local.

An amazing dining experience - staff was awesome, Ben recommended food and some great off the beaten path wines. We all left the meal up to the staff and it was arable we didn’t need to worry about how many each dish served as they all came with six appropriate portions for us to try. Standout dining in Toronto

Didn’t love the food compared to the hype. Ben was lovely, but definitely a heavy menu.

Ambience was great, service was good and the food was really nice (aside from the beef/steak course which didn’t quite live up to the rest). Only other complaint is that for a restaurant that identifies itself strongly with wine, they really don’t offer many options by the glass. Minor complaints overall, we really enjoyed our dinner and would recommend.

Delicious food and outstanding service. It’s a little loud, a little expensive. We’ll be back for the food and lovely staff, who seem completely committed to service and quality.

Food was exceptional. Host very accommodating when we didn’t like the first wine he suggested. Phillipino Server very friendly, wanted to speak French with us and easily helped us choose the right combination of plates for our enjoyment. Will highly recommend the place.e

Very good food, original and yummy. Attentive service. The room is small and crowded, but overall a good establishment, well deserving of the Michelin Bib Gourmand. I especially recommend the pork dumpling and noodles in a delicious bok choy sauce.

One of my favourite restaurants in the city, Alma is both a destination restaurant and our neighbourhood restaurant because the food is fantastic but it's never fussy. It's got clean, calm decor and relaxed but expert service and the prices are reasonable. You can go all out with a nice bottle of wine (they're very well sourced and stocked) for a special occasion, or just enjoy your radish cakes (MUST eat) and a kombucha to keep it more budget. I almost don't want to tell you to go there so it doesn't blow up too much.
