ALMA is a Mexican restaurant that celebrates Mexico’s rich culinary history by incorporating authentic ingredients and cooking techniques into its menu, while making modern modifications to delight Angelenos.

A unique two-story concept, the ground floor of ALMA is comprised of a walk-up taqueria and marketplace, which sells imported Mexican novelties and fresh ingredients, such as hand-pressed tortillas from ALMA’s kitchen. The fine-dining restaurant, located on ALMA’s second floor, serves authentic Mexican cuisine served with a Southern California twist.

Grupo Hunan's first venture outside of Mexico, inspired by Baja California's raw, coastal landscape, sun-kissed flora, and vibrant food culture. Grupo Hunan has been a mainstay of the Mexican restaurant scene for 30+ years, satisfying all the senses.

For us, being together is the way of life. We invite you and yours to come in, share some platillos, clink some glasses, and -most importantly- ENJOY the mexican culinary experience.

When we tried to check in, the young woman out front hassled us and said we did not reserve a table outside - not on the balcony. She told is to get a outdoors downstairs table but we would need to wait 20 minutes although we had a reservation. when we came back after 20 minutes, and we were seated by someone else,she walked up to our table visibly upset that we had been seated. Lastly, we went to get parking validation, she asked us if we had eaten there On the bright side, Adrian our saver was absolutely amazing and made dinner a pleasure!

I really wanted to enjoy the restaurant the service was awful beyond . No plates after food was sitting for 10 minutes food got cold had to serve myself water mutiol times no silverware after plates and silverware taken . If you are going to take silverware and plates bring out new silverware and plates.

We have always loved Alma, but got super busy either life and hadn’t gone in a while, we were surprised to see the change in the menu, unfortunately it just became like any other Mexican restaurant in the area, their Yucatán cuisine and dishes are gone, no Lima soup, no Panuchos, etc etc……. Food very similar to Madre up the street on Fairfax. Why? With Mexico boasting such a diverse cuisine why the change? Why be like the many restaurants around? I truly missed all the dishes from the old menu, oh and the acustic music got replaced by the commercial stuff any average Latin restaurant is playing nowadays. Not pleased with the changes, our server was amazing though, and the restaurant is so pretty and comfortable. Please make it unique once again 🙏

I reserved inside, upon arriving they told me the inside was closed, later they opened up the inside for somebody else! the food has also gone down hill. I will not be returning. It was freezing in the patio.

I wanted to love this restaurant, but the food was pretty meh. Not much flavor and a bit too expensive for what you get.

Went for Mother’s Day, the taqueria patio wasn’t crowded but I think the restaurant upstairs for brunch was (we didn’t check it out). Chips and salsa at the beginning is a nice touch seeing as how most places charge extra. Second time coming here and was just as good. Tacos were very tasty, right amount of flavor, they also give you quite a bit of meat in each taco and they are not stingy. Would have to say our server Pablo was awesome!! Could not say enough about how attentive he was, very quick to refill our water and even giving us extra chips AND salsa. Very personable and my wife and daughter said he was a great photographer. As my very Gen Z daughter says “he ate” taking the pictures (ask your gen z kid what that means). All in all he made our time at the restaurant very pleasant and would definitely return.

My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and my birthday at Alma and we had such a wonderful time. We were seated promptly for our reservation and placed by the windows and away from other people so it was more intimate. We ordered some drinks that were very good and then ordered our meals. The place was beautiful and the food was phenomenal.
