ALMA is a Mexican restaurant that celebrates Mexico’s rich culinary history by incorporating authentic ingredients and cooking techniques into its menu, while making modern modifications to delight Angelenos.

A unique two-story concept, the ground floor of ALMA is comprised of a walk-up taqueria and marketplace, which sells imported Mexican novelties and fresh ingredients, such as hand-pressed tortillas from ALMA’s kitchen. The fine-dining restaurant, located on ALMA’s second floor, serves authentic Mexican cuisine served with a Southern California twist.

Grupo Hunan's first venture outside of Mexico, inspired by Baja California's raw, coastal landscape, sun-kissed flora, and vibrant food culture. Grupo Hunan has been a mainstay of the Mexican restaurant scene for 30+ years, satisfying all the senses.

For us, being together is the way of life. We invite you and yours to come in, share some platillos, clink some glasses, and -most importantly- ENJOY the mexican culinary experience.

Drinks were slow overall. Beer arrived totally warm. Food wasn’t hot. Plates had residue on them. Food delivery to wrong tables around us twice. Overall very average experience at best for a high priced dinner. Ambience was nice and food is good but should be hot!

Food was good but the desserts were better. Not sure why food took a little longer than expected. Our server would occasionally come by but it would of been nice if they would tell us the status of our food. The restaurant wasn't even full. We may give this place another try.

Service was slow… badly paced… servers were unfriendly and never check to refiill water, other drinks. Food was cold / room temp

Coming from the beach cities, I searched for a fun restaurant to enjoy my Aunt’s 80th celebration. I made a HUGE mistake. The place is pretty big, two levels. Nice ambience. Friendly staff. The quality of food was very poor to maybe mediocre. I honestly don’t understand how this place was so popular. Again, perhaps it was the fact that it was at the Grove. We ordered The nachos that weren’t anything special. My family ordered enchiladas, that looked good but the food was room temp. The cheese enchiladas were dry and hard. I ordered carne asada tacos and I barely received enough meat on the three baby tacos. They were smaller than street tacos. The rice and beans were cold. I asked for hot fresh rice and beans again and they were cold again. The waitress didn’t even offer us desert but was quick to give us our bill. They also did not have coffee at all. The entire experience was very unpleasant. Very expensive for what we received. I would have had a better experience at Taco Bell. I take pride on good costumer service. I’m a huge foodie but this was nothing to compliment. Very sad. Do better.

The service was gracious and the cocktails were delicious. However, everyone at our table ordered enchiladas and they were all served lukewarm. One person returned her enchiladas and asked for hot enchiladas. The new enchiladas were still tepid. The food was too expensive to be so mediocre.

Dining with Maximo as our server was an absolute delight from start to finish. His attentiveness, warmth, and professionalism elevated our evening to an unforgettable experience. From the moment we sat down, Maximo made us feel welcomed, ensuring every detail of our meal was perfect. The service was seamless—plates arrived promptly, glasses were never empty, and Maximo anticipated our needs with remarkable intuition. His deep knowledge of the menu and thoughtful recommendations added a personal touch, guiding us toward dishes that exceeded all expectations. As for the food, it was nothing short of extraordinary. Thank you so much for the outstanding service provided to me and my family on my daughters sweet 15th birthday we spent it well, food was great and the restaurant is pet friendly with currently having a puppy I was able to have my puppy there to celebrate my daughters birthday. Thank you so much!
