Allora's menu is rooted in Northern Italian-American specialties and offers a wide selection of homemade pasta, as well superior grass-fed steaks aged in house for 28 days and classic seafood dishes like Clams Oreganata. Other specialties include tableside preparations of old-school favorites like a traditional Caesar Salad, the "Godfather" Grilled Branzino, Flambées, Zabaglione, and more. In addition, over 30 off-menu seasonal specials like Veil Chop Etna and Kobe Beef Ravioli, will be offered nightly. When we arrived we were geeeted by the host who also served as our waiter. He was a pleasant gentleman. We were the only diners in the restaurant which was lovely to have the place to ourselves 😉We were visiting NY to celebrate my fiance’s birthday. The ambiance was nice, there was nice music playing throughout the restaurant and our experience was enjoyable until a group came in to have drinks at the bar. We had no issue with their liveliness however, we were not expecting to listen to the presidential debate while dining. Management decided to turn the dinner music off and blasted the debate to the point where it was obnoxious. The tv is loud and then they begin talking back to the television loudly about how one candidate sounds stupid and they thought the other was the messiah. We don’t care what your political views are but would prefer not to discuss or listen to them as paying customers while dining. We ended up playing music on our phone to drown out to sounds of the loud television and the commentary being shouted at the TV. Our meal was okay but after this experience, we would not recommend this restaurant to anyone nor would we dine here again.

Although Allora at E 47th St. accepts reservations until 10:45 p.m. and they advertise "al fresco" seating and a rooftop, when we arrived after the theater with a reservation for 4 at 10:00 p,m. the restaurant was deserted and we were informed that the rooftop was closed. We were led to a table on the ground floor, given a wine list, and to our surprise all waiters kept talking among themselves at the entrance of the restaurant without taking our order or bringing the menus. An initial course of complementary appetizers was brought, and then the waiter reappeared saying that the restaurant had been very busy earlier on but that then it had become a slow night. Not our fault. We were told the specials of the day, and we ordered wine and different courses. The food was tasty and portions abundant which made us not realize, at the time, that a side order we requested was never brought. Half way through our dinner they started preparing the tables for the following day. Overall, we had the feeling that the staff was ready to leave at the time we arrived and that we were not welcomed. To boot, it was an expensive meal. We would not recommend this restaurant.

We dined here are a group of 8 for a business dinner and had a fantastic meal! The service was professional but still friendly, and the food was delicious too.
