Bringing people together and building community through food, allister is a neighborhood restaurant and cocktail bar located in beautiful Downtown Mercer Island, Washington. We offer simple American cuisine with an emphasis on Northwest seasonal ingredients, inspired by French and Asian influences.

Our bar features Classic craft cocktails, well-curated list of wines, NA beverages, and a selection of local and Nationally brewed beers.

This was our second time at this lovely new restaurant in Mercer Island. They still have some kinks to fix, and room for improvements. I am glad that they are listening, and being open to suggestions from the community. The lighting has improved tremendously. The service is good, but the menu, and food presentation still lacking. For example, I had the filet mingnon which was perfectly cooked to my specifications; however, the presentation was very poor, and tasteless. The filet was set on top of very plain and lumpy mashed potatoes with no flavor at all, and 4 pieces of cooked plain broccolini, the sauce for the steak was on the side, but other than that, the dish had no flavor at all. I would hope that the chef would take some input from the dinners. For this particular dish, I would present it with a very creamy perhaps garlicky mashed potatoes with some drizzled sauce, have the vegetables sautéed in some wonderful reduction sauce, and have the steak on top. Small details that make a big difference on the palate. About the salad. We set for dinner at 6:30pm, ordered a Caesar salad to start, the waiter took the order, but came back a few minutes later to say that they were out of romaine lettuce. How can you be out of romaine lettuce at the beginning of the evening? Obviously, they have not figured out how much romaine they should have available everyday to fulfill the orders. Anyway, I am rooting for them to do well, and I have no doubt they will. We are so happy to have this awesome restaurant on the Island, and it will only get better! AH

Was excited to try this place after waiting and waiting for someone to take over the old Bennets. It's certainly very well done and pretty. Super loud though, which was also Bennets problem. And we had fruit flies which is super annoying. They front door was open the whole time to accommodate the patio patrons but that didn't help with the ambiance. And the lighting was too bright. It's dinner time. It could have been better with less lights. Food was great and that's why I'd come back. Heirloom tomato salad was delicious. My date and I split the rib eye and it was delicious. Didn't care for whatever the sauce was. And we shared the ice cream rolled in quinoa crunch. Delish. We were impressed with the bathrooms too. A lot of attention to detail there.

Allister was great! I had the waygu burger. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I’d love to dine there again.

we are over the moon about this new gem of a restaurant and Mercer Island. The food is delicious, ambiance is wonderful, the service is outstanding and it’s more than we ever expected.

It looked like most guests just rolled out of bed to come here. Understood the vibe was “neighborhood” but I wasn’t expecting it to be that relaxed. The food was fantastic and staff were helpful.

We were looking forward to eating at Allister, but had some reservations since other family members had eaten there and found the food being only so-so. We were also disappointed by the food. While the gazpacho and tomato soups were outstanding, my chicken sandwich was dry and tasteless: the bun reminded me of several-days-old-bread; the avocado was bitter; and the accompanying French fries were barely warm. My wife was similarly disappointed with her roast beef sandwich. That being said, Abdul provided excellent service. But we will not return until the restaurant gets better reviews.

Allister has a wonderful energy with beautiful decor in both the indoor and outdoor seating areas. It was my first time there so I tried the lunch special, which came with soup, sandwich and salad. My friends and I enjoyed our meals very much, particularly because of the friendly and warm staff. I look forward to returning and trying out the other menu items.

Wonderful new dining on MI… but they must do something about the noise level!!! It was ok with just a few people but when the tables were full, we could NOT hear our friends or the waiter!

We had a great time at Allister for an anniversary outing. The Wagyu burger and Gnocchi were creatively prepared and served hot. Our server tipped us off that the salads are large and we might consider splitting one since we’re weren’t ordering as entrees. Good call. We had two cocktails shared a glass of wine. The bill was very reasonable even with tip included. We look forward to a return visit. There space is very well laid out with a cool semi-circular bar at one end. My hearing is just ok and the noise level was acceptable.
