Located in the heart of downtown State College, our newly restored space offers an honest, no-fuss menu featuring modern American cooking. The bar program features classics-inspired craft cocktails and a thoughtfully curated biodynamic wine list including plentiful wines by the glass.

Located on the second floor of Hotel State College, an iconic corner of hospitality in the community, the Grill has offered the community and alumni one of the grandest views of town and Penn State through floor-to-ceiling windows for more than 40 years. Thoughtfully restored and reimagined by new owners, Chef Karen Nicolas and the team set out to re-establish the Allen Street Grill as the epicenter of the downtown dining scene with a focus on local, quality ingredients and great hospitality.

Kip is a foodie…. and a superb wait staff. And when he says to try something - now I know to listen. The carrot soup with the cheese filled biscuit on the side to dunk, was heavenly! We are starting to truly appreciate Kip’s keen sense of good food as the chef really does create masterpieces that leave the kitchen. Becky always brings a smile and makes us feel extra special even on just a regular week day. ASG is simply unbeatable for the ultimate State College food and beverage experience.

We had a wonderful experience in so many ways. The great service by Kai ( not sure about spelling) made the evening even better. Our table was right at the windows above College Avenue. Great view indeed! The cocktails are very well crafted and were enjoyed by all. We shared the charcuterie board which was beautiful and delicious. All of our meals, seafood risotto. Ribeye steak and some excellent vegetarian dishes were all presented very well and cooked perfectly. The portions are quite large so no room for desserts but they do have lots of choices. We will definitely be back!

We had a late lunch so went right to entrees after some of their very delicious cocktails (the bar and bar staff here are amazing!). Our server was Rachel and she was an expert professional in recommending our entrees and a wine to accompany them (Do Nothing out of Willamette OR) We had the local organic chicken, ribeye and cavatelli Murray Farm chicken is the best I've ever had. Local and cooked to perfection Ribeye was amazing and also cooked perfectly All were very excellent but what really made the night was Rachel. Be sure to ask for her if you can! next time we will skip lunch so we can order more! Kieran and Taylor family

Kip was a great server. The food recommendations were on point. Food was delicious. Definitely returning on our next visit.

Allen Street Grill never disappoints! This is my favorite restaurant in State College. The food and service was top notch. Do not miss out on the steak tartare if it is on the menu - it was fabulous. We also had the melon caprese salad as an appetizer and it was delicious. For mains, the pork chop was outstanding! They usually have some pork dish on the menu and i have had different versions of it before and it is always great. My daughter had the seafood risotto and she loved it. Overall, fantastic experience!
