Located in the heart of downtown State College, our newly restored space offers an honest, no-fuss menu featuring modern American cooking. The bar program features classics-inspired craft cocktails and a thoughtfully curated biodynamic wine list including plentiful wines by the glass.

Located on the second floor of Hotel State College, an iconic corner of hospitality in the community, the Grill has offered the community and alumni one of the grandest views of town and Penn State through floor-to-ceiling windows for more than 40 years. Thoughtfully restored and reimagined by new owners, Chef Karen Nicolas and the team set out to re-establish the Allen Street Grill as the epicenter of the downtown dining scene with a focus on local, quality ingredients and great hospitality.

    This was our first dining experience at the Allen St Grill. First of all, they were very accommodating in adjusting our reservation due to the PSU game going into OT, second, our server was as excellent. Overall the food was very good but we had to wait more than 45 min after our first course for the second course. The kitchen was slow due to two large groups dining at the restaurant. For me, this spot ranks below Barrel 21 and the Tavern.

    Delicious food! Excellent service! The carrot soup was amazing. My husband and son loved their steak!

    it was pretty good! our server was a bit slow-paced, it took nearly two hours. the food was great, but was definitely not what was ordered. i love their vegetarian pasta with lemon and asparagus, and ended up getting a pasta with broccoli instead, not what i ordered - but it was still pretty good.

    The food is great. The chef is talented and inventive. The servers are knowledgeable and efficient. Friendly too. Really enjoy dining by the windows above college avenue and looking up the mall.

    Waiter was excellent and food was amazing! I was with my 17 year old son and he was impressed that they had Fever Tree sodas and not Pepsi or coke products, but that might not work for everyone.

    Fall menu- the new swordfish is one of the best meals I have ever had as it is absolutely delicious. Thank you!
