Alla Famiglia has been delighting local and traveled guests in this very same location for over two decades. This "diamond in the rough" is conveniently located on the hilltop of Pittsburgh's South Side. Boasting a fine dining atmosphere, its family owned and operated, and promises to deliver a consistent product with every visit. You will be greeted and treated like family, as you enjoy homemade scratch Italian specialties, an award winning wine list, and complex scratch cocktails. Dine in an old world atmosphere under paddle fans, exposed brick, antiquities from all around the world. Six unique and interestingly decorated dining rooms comprises the character of this institution which started with just 8 tables, 25 years ago. Choose from daily provisioned fishes and exotics from the sea, dry and wet aged Prime beef, tender milk fed veal, and homemade maccheroni are just some of the choices you will have to select from. Crown the evening with our pastries prepared on site.

ChatGPT Last time we visited this restaurant, it was an amazing experience. We had the best steak in the city and enjoyed outstanding service. Naturally, we were excited to bring our friends and family this time, having hyped it up to them. Unfortunately, this visit was a major letdown. The service was mediocre, the food did not live up to our previous experience, and the hefty bill added insult to injury. We left disappointed and will not be returning.

We had a lovely experience at Alla Famiglia for our 30th Anniversary dinner. We have been there several times, but not for a few years. We started with the greens and beans which are arguably the best in Pittsburgh. The salads are freshly made and delicious. We opted for the Cacio e Pepe over the red sauce starter pasta, which is not made the traditional cacio way, but still delicious. I had the veal Romano and hubby had the chicken limon, both were tender and melted in your mouth. The service was excellent, thank you Audra. We were seated on the top level which is a nice, private spot. After the loud, obnoxious table left, it was perfect. Thank you for a lovely experience. We will be back soon!

The food was amazing. The staff was amazing. Everything was so beautiful. It was so nice. I love everything I will be back. Thank you guys for having us for my birthday again. The food was a 10 out of a 10 if you’re thinking about the whole experience was.

As always, the dinner with Alla Famiglia was excellent. In all the times we’ve been here this was actually the first time we weren’t seated in the original front (only) room of the restaurant. It definitely is a different feeling in there. Strangely while the original room seems like it would be the more casual, It actually felt more casual in the downstairs dining room. We liked being able to watch the people in the kitchen. Our server was attentive, although definitely not the best serve we’ve ever had here. The food is excellent, but for us the portions are at least three times what we would ever eat in a meal. Although we’ve never considered sharing an entrée, I think we may in the future.
