A Gem of a Restaurant in Downtown DC This is our second time visiting this wonderful restaurant after a phenomenal culinary experience several weeks ago. The chef is at his prime and each dish was special - perfectly seasoned, cooked, and presented. This is a place where the Mediterranean food is prepared and flavored to provide a deeply satisfying dining experience. The experience starts with an incredibly tasty bread with a variety of sauces. Our table ordered the beef carpaccio, tuna tartare and tahini cauliflower followed by two orders of branzino and rack of lamb. All the dishes are shareable in size and were absolutely fantastic. Our friends who were visiting the restaurant for the first time were raving about the food and are including Alhambra in their short list of must dine places in DC.

The bread and hummus were fantastic. My preferred style of eating is tapas style. Patas Bravas were also very good.

It’s perfect for tea with your girls if you’re looking for a quiet atmosphere and aren’t very hungry. The St. Regis prides themselves on excellent service and you will get that here! However, the food is not worth the price. It was great quality but the flavor wasn’t there in my opinion. I got the eggs and it came with potato, back. And a grilled tomato and it was average, but over $20. I also tried the buttermilk pancakes and those were superb, also overpriced. Two mimosas were $50. I would return because it’s absolutely stunning and the service is impeccable, but not for food.

Sofi, our server, was excellent. A true professional. I just wish he was serving better food. Obviously we knew this was going to be an extravagant meal, but to honest, the entrees were terrible. If you go, just order appetizers and have a mezze meal. Mom’s Borek is excellent. Skip the entrees, they are extremely overpriced, and very heavy. I’m disappointed to report that Alhambra is an epic ripoff.

Excellent food and service. Would definitely go back, however I came to celebrate my birthday here was thought they might do something special and they didn’t.

Honestly, I was quite disappointed with the experience on Mother’s Day. First, there was no indication that it would be a buffet lunch when I booked - I was expecting the regular brunch experience at Alhambra, which I happen to love. Second, the cost was exorbitant - $150/person plus 10% food tax (what is this??) and automatic 20% service charge (while we all were getting our own food at the buffet). Had I known, I would have booked the High Tea experience and would probably come out much happier. Please be more transparent with your customers if you want repeat business. Never thought I’d be so disappointment at the St. Regis.

Expected more for a mothers day event. Did not think a breakfast station was appropriate for a lunch event. Cost did not justify the value.
