Alexander's Craft Cocktails and Kitchen was named after the distillery located on the grounds from 1861-1865, which washed away in a flood (historic marker located between the restaurant & The Manor).

The newly renovated main bar is located on 1st floor, and opens onto expansive wrap-around, creekside porches. Just a few steps down from the porches is an open deck situated beneath gracious Live Oak canopies.

The warm aubergine & copper walls of the third floor lounge contrast the amazing art representation from local galleries. The stunning view of Salado Creek as well as the grounds of the neighboring estate provide the perfect spot to enjoy your favorite beverage. Patrons choose from a variety of entree selections, appetizers, and adult beverages.

I’ve been here before for brunch and it was delightful. I joined a group of friends for a late lunch to celebrate the holiday season recently and the service was slow and inattentive. The food was just okay and some of it was overcooked. The hospitality quotient here was very low and it was a disappointing experience. There are other options that deliver on hospitality to consider when visiting Salado.

Server was very knowledgeable with the menu. The food was fantastic! The family had a few cocktails as well. Nice vibe in a 1890s style home.

Service was amazing Food was good But it was freezing inside the restaurant Not sure if heater wasn’t working or just so old they can’t keep it warm We had to keep coats on the entire time We go back but if cold weather, lots of layers for me

A little disappointed this visit. Service was slow. We had to ask to have our order taken. Drinks took 10 minutes to deliver. And we only ordered wine, no cocktails. I asked for A1 to go with my steak and they were out. I had asked a different waitress about it and she never came back to me. I had to ask our waitress and then it took another 5-8 minutes for her to return with no steak sauce. Their house steak sauce is too acidic for me. We ordered the cheese board for an appetizer. It came with a very spicy Italian pepper sauce but they did not advise that it was very, very hot so my lips burned just from dipping the tips of the fork prongs in the sauce. I wouldn't order it again. My steak was undercooked. As for the environment, they could have closed the side door by our dining room that is right by the main entrance door. We had cold air and chills throughout our service. We typically have an excellent, 5 star experience.

The pan-seared tenderloin was SO tender. Emery/Embrey (?) was our server. She took good care of us. Attentive but not pushy. Atmosphere was romantic and intimate. Will definitely go back for a special occasion.

Another perfect Thanksgiving meal at one of our favorite places. Cheryl was again our wait professional and she is AWESOME. Food, wine and beverages were spot on as usual.
